Can you make changes in your order anytime prior to receiving a production number? For example, I placed my order in three weeks ago; have not received a production number....

Keyless entry is the issue! Is it worth it? I did not get it because I initially thought it was just superfluous. People seem to like it on the threads....

Also, how long does it take to get a production number?

You can make changes all the way until it goes into the status of "scheduled for production", which is usually a day or two before they actually start building it.

Getting your production number depends on which month's allocation you will be getting from your dealership. Each moth the dealerships get another batch of 1ers they can sell (and it is limited). You may have a build slot from a past month, which would mean you are in production, or very close to it. You may have a future build slot (March production), and you would have a bit more wait.

Check with your CA at the BMW Center you ordred from.
