Anybody power coat their calipers?

I have a friend that dissembled their calipers to have them power coated. Now that everything is back together they have a spongy brake pedal. Haven't driven the car due to this. Does anyone have any idea whether or not it's safe to drive the car, or what needs to be done, besides a normal break bleeding to get this safe for the road? Would be curious to hear from a BMW mechanic on the actual procedure.

My guess would be that the brakes need to be bled

yeah definitely will need proper brake bleeding. I suggest you rent/buy the bleed kit. its kind of a pain in you know what procedure without it.

Thanks for the input. We'll double check the calipers aren't switched. He's bled the brakes a few times already using a pump. Heard anything about the need to cycle the ABS pump to get air bubbles out of it?
