1 Series M Coupe in New Foster Home

This is the 3rd (and final) home for this poor and until now unwanted 1 M.

Previous owners did take good care of him, and even lavished him with shadowline grills, rear BMW Performance CF Spoiler with VO accent and side gill black matte inserts.

Will be posting pics from time to time to show how happy he now is, as we are to have him.

Thanks folks! The black lines were actually a gift from his foster brother.

Since then they've not been getting along, so it's time for his older blues brother to move out.

Awesome! It's my cars twin except you have the blacklines and the orange stripe on the spoiler and I have a rock chip on my hood... we need to have an Indiana 1M meet sometime!

I don't know....I think water craft are commonly always 'she'. But cars seem to go either way, although I did have a E36 in Calypso red we affectionately called 'Lucy'. If this 1 M is a 'she', she's very butch.

But for now I'm thinking of naming him 'Esau' (Biblical reference), since Orange is from the red family (looks like Imola in some dark shades), but mostly because he's running his brother out of the house again.

That'd be neat. There can't be like maybe 3 or 4 in the whole state. I understand one of the manager's at Dreyer-Reinbold has an Alpine white one. A CA there thought I might have the only VO, but you shot that one down in flames, thank you.

Thanks for the warm hearted greeting Gents!

Mark, are you driving your 1 M? Regardless, make sure you stop off in Indianapolis on your way through to O'fest. The city is very small for a big city, but as with the rest of the state the inhabitants are warm and cordial to visitors and strangers.

But just as importantly we need all of you out of state residents tax dollars to help fund our lofty sports stadiums, and cultural enterprises that we locals want to enjoy.

On the east side of Indy on I-70 there's a long running interstate upgrade that's taking place, which runs about 10 miles from the Post Rd exit to a bit past the Mount Comfort Rd exit so that may slow you down. But the good news is that once past that it's clear sailing to the Ohio Border at speeds up to 80mph fairly safely with little constabulary intervention.

But be warned once you hit the OH side of I-70 you are on your own when venturing above the 65mph speed limit. I think you're safe at 5 - 7mph over. But beyond that may the force and luck be with you.

I figured at some point if I did some additional research I might eventually find who the original parents were.

Beats the heck out of procuring a PI to do it.

After he's gotten over the feeling of abandonment future supervised visits might be possible at his current domicile.

Mark is originally from Indy, or his parents are...I forget. One thing for sure, we are all Colts fans!

Had the local dealer, Dreyer-Reinbold, add 35% tint while in for the one year anniversary service on Thursday.

It really looks too cool now, methinks.

Exactly the same I want to do to mine. Can you tell me what kind of rear spoiler you have on? Where you got it and how much?

It's the BMW Performance Carbon Fiber spoiler with CRT theme. The previous owner got it from Nate@IND. According to the ad in that link it goes for $550.00 US.

Looks super clean and very similar to my car in fact Just did not install the matt version of this same CRT style IND-BMW spoiler yet. I also have the anthrazit overlays for the side creases waiting to be installed since very long time (got them from Lightweight Titanausppuflagen guys), they sit in the trunk and every week-end I just repeat forgeting this little duty, now thanks to your photos I know that I need to go and do it.

And the rear lights cluster? Are they black lines or the shop tinted them too? I want to tint just the white section at the bottom for rear gear lights.
