Style 261 square set fitment
I know this has been done before so I thought this would be the perfect place to post about it... I recently got an extra set of 261 wheels and powder coated the rears black and I am planning to run a square set of 8.5" so I can run 255's all around.
I know the wheels are 18x8.5J ET52 so for the front I would need some spacer and camber to clear strut and fender. I was planning to add stud conversion as well to run 5-10mm spacers (only adding what is needed to clear the strut) then max camber (-3 deg) My question for you guys is, If anyone here has done this or similar, what coilovers are you running? On my previous 135i I had 18x8.5" ET45 in the front but I was forced to run 235's because the 255's were rubbing the extra-large strut from the FEALs 441+ Thanks in advance for the help |

Not sure about the 261s but I'm running some 18x8 et40 with 245/35r18 square with 1.3degree camber at front.
Stock m sport suspension. Scrubs at the front on very hard loads (e.g fast into speed bumps or fast into dips) |

I'm on TC Klein Coilovers, 12MM spacer is a MUST! I have about 1MM space between the tire and the strut, although with brand new MPS4S it's dirties the strut a tiny bit.
With Bilstein B8 struts, the 12MM spacer was enough, but it did wear down the paint a little. Other mods are the TC Klein camber plates (at max getting 2.5*), M front arms, maybe a 1-1.5" drop (not slammed). You will most likely also need to shave down the connection between fender and bumper, the tire will rub there too. |
