Brown = Ground and the Black/purple stripe = reverse +12v.

Do you have this showing up on the stock navi unit? Or do you have separate monitor?

I wired the camera to Brown = Ground and the Black/purple stripe = reverse +12v. Camera only works when the engine is off and as soon as i turn on the engine and put in reverse its blank. Any suggestions?

Yes i looked at the thread about installing a rear cam. It seems im not getting enough juice to the rear cam with the engine is on. I going to try an automotive relay to see if that will work.

I got it working with a 4 pin automotive relay. The camera wasn't getting enough voltage when the engine was running. Thanks to Sarge and Simon for answering my questions with the install. Later on i will make a separate thread with pics and a full review of the Dynavin d99 Android.

Here is one crappy pic I have. I tucked everything in so its all hidden.

I just bought a $6 4-pin automotive relay at Autozone and use it to channel a constant 12v.
I used the pin configuration:

Pin #30: Constant 12v source (I just tapped to the yellow wire for the Dynavin I had to connect to the battery.)

Pin #85: Ground source (I just ran a wire and bolted to on one of the tail light bolts)

Pin #86: Switch source (I connected this to the black/violet wire from the tail light harness.)

Pin #87: The device you trying to power (I connected this to the red wire to the reverse camera)

Hope this helps people trying to install a reverse camera.

Didn't work for me, the screen would come on for about 5 seconds, then, gone. Here's something close to yours that DID work for me...

I tapped the head unit trigger wire into the "accessory positive" line on the relay. This way, the positive reverse light wire triggers both the camera power and the head unit trigger. It doesn't seem like the relay trigger (blade 86) needs a constant 12v current, so once the reverse light is powered on (and even when the current varies), it allows the 12v constant current from blade 30 to pass through to the camera positive (blade 87) and simultaneously triggers the head unit to switch to the camera view. Brief summary of the relay connections below for anyone interested.

30: 12v constant (tapped into multi cd changer 12v constant)
85: ground (reverse light ground & camera ground)
86: trigger (reverse light positive)
87: accessory positive (camera positive and head unit trigger)

No warning light, service engine warnings, etc. I have a 128i convertible

This was the only thing that worked for me, hope this helps
