This is a Euro spec car.

Original build sheet has DVD Region 4 and Spanish language version - so it was probably built for Mexico, Central or South America.

There are shipping records of it travelling from Puebla, Mexico to Vancouver, BC in 2017 so my bet is it was originally a Mexico car.

It might actually be a VW with a bunch of aftermarket bits on it.

VW has a large factory in Puebla.

Search for the VIN on this page - it travelled with a Porsche Cayenne. Seems like the owner shipped two cars up north.

Wow. Amazing story. Yes Mexican cars are euro spec indeed. Would love to see what the logo on the door frame looks like. Might have the Mexican eagle instead of maple leaf. Please show it to us when get a chance.

Question for you guys if you don't mind. How do you find the stock brakes? Do you find it necessary to change it if you are NOT tracking the car?

No....unless you want bling. Even tracking the car in stock form will not overwhelm the stock system with proper fluid and pads. I did not need to change to a BBK until I ran a tune and started using TW100 r-comp tires.

for me, the stock brakes is the weakness link in the 1M. Experienced brake fade once during a spirited drive to a Goodwood event and that set my mind on a BBK.

Someone responded about tracking. I find the brakes outstanding and so spirited drives and did a couple of auto crosses in my previous 1M. Even guys that track just change the pads. Glad you clarified not tracking.

Not going to lie but those do look great, I'll stick with stock for now and see how I like them. Thank you for sharing.

Yah for me, I'm not planning tracking regularly, more just daily when the weather is nice and some back road driving. So I'll test it out and we'll see what happens. Thank you

The owners manual actually asks you to use them in the manner intended for a performance car to prevent corrosion. I know mine corroded in Ontario and luckily replaced rotors on warranty.

Anyone want to share their experiences or thoughts on the Dinan cold air intake for the 1M? Any alternatives or other suggestions? Or just not changing/upgrading it all together?
