Forgetting to pull the parking brake....

Am I the only person that does this like once every 2 years? Thankfully it wasn't in my 1M, and there was no damage...but I do wonder what would have happened if my garage door had not stopped it!

I've done many stupid things in my life, but leaving a MT car whose engine was turned off, without the parking brake engaged, plus the car in gear, is not one of them.

No, I always put parking brake on, even in automatics. I did have a brand new Acura TSX one time that had a terrible parking brake. I think it used the only the disk pads unlike our cars that have a built in drum also. Anyway, I was coaching soccer and one of the parents says, hey coach, isn't that your car rolling away? I look up and there was my tsx rolling down the hill ever so slowly with the parking brake set, but I left in neutral. That's when I realized genius of our drum disk system.

Lucky that door stopped it.

Maybe he had to pizz real bad...?? Or his girlfriend told him she was waiting for him when he got home in a sexy outfit...both decent reasons to forget.....:

I actually had a guy holding a shower glass door above his head at my front door - and i got home late so I raced in the house to open the front door. I actually did pull the brake - just not high enough apparently!

This very thing happened to me. Bolt did a number on the rear bumper. I took it to a top quality auto repair company and have been waiting over a month for my car. First bumper they received was damaged. They had to order a new one from Germany and it's been back-ordered. Can't wait to get my car back. Bumper is supposed to come in today. Just received my Akrapovic slip-on and can't wait to get it installed!

No, but I've forgotten to take the FOB out of the slot many times.
