Floor Mat Securing

Has anyone else had to deal with a drivers's floor mat that just would not stay in place? I know they've got the little velcro circle things but in my case the hole that they secure into is just an elongated mess now.

Thoughts on how to fix?

Interested as well. Mine does the same thing although I looked and didn't see anything that would physically hold them down.

Until I figure out the issue, I ordered some Weather Tech rubber mats for my car that seem to hold in place fairly decently. I only have to adjust them back every other week or so.

Our cars have these little round pieces that attach to the bottom of the mats with velcro. You're supposed to drill the hole in the carpet, and screw this piece in, which then attached to the velcro on the mat. But like I said, the hole after 8 years has just become a long trench for the thing to slide in.

Looking at mine today...there aren't any holes drilled in my carpet. No indentations....nothing.

Kind of odd.

I have the velcro, as mentioned above. The car came with the velcro pieces attached to the floor, and also with velcro attached to the bottom of the mat. Still working fine.

I think you might have just answered my question Esteban. I'll have to get some good quality heavy duty Velcro and just attach it directly to the carpet instead of using the little Velcro puck screwed in. I'll try with the self adhesive heavy duty Velcro first, but might need to find a good glue to use if it doesn't work.

Let us know how it works for you. I may try the same!
