N54 Dinan SSK Not Centered - SOLVED
Hi Everyone,
First thread on this forum – I bought a 2009 135i a few weeks ago and have started modifying it. Super happy with the car and very satisfied with my purchase. I installed a Cobb charge pipe, Turbosmart DVs, and a Dinan SSK this weekend. The only issue I am having at this point is getting the Dinan SSK to ‘center’ in neutral. As of now, I can shift through all 6 gears + reverse with no issue, however everything is shifted slightly to the right/away from the driver’s seat (see pics). Any idea on what is going on here? I have a feeling I may have damaged the factory shifter ball bushing (OEM part #25111220600) – when I turn it counterclockwise to lock it into place it will not lock in and can be pulled straight out. Would this cause it to be out of center? Any insight as to what is going on here would be much appreciated. 1st Pic - Neutral 2nd Pic - 1st 3rd Pic - 6th Last edited by pgwillis; 05-06-2019 at 11:48 AM.. Reason: SOLVED |

Turns out I had the new lever in 180 degrees the wrong way (read perfectly backward ). Looks and feels much better now. Super short shifts, only slightly notchy, and retains the factory smoothness between gears. ZHP knob looks so much better than the factory M knob and per my girlfriend "looks a lot less cheap."
