Ugh San Marino blue is probably my favorite BMW blue ever.

I'm gonna make an even bolder claim

I think San Marino is the best OEM blue ever

My vote between those two would be the San Marino Blue, but check out Santorini Blue as well.
Great suggestion! Someone I know painted his 135i in that blue. Looks awesome!

Speedlogic concurs with your findings, even says the full rsfb replacements result in a negligible difference and new struts are a significantly better investment. I trust Rob for anything e Series.

Still like the idea of wrapping it in green. Here's a couple of greens that I think would look good on your lowriding 1er. lol

I swapped out the engine oil plug for a ValvoMax drain valve. While lifting both the front and rear of car did not present problems, I normally have drained the engine oil with the rear wheels on the ground and the front wheels on ramps, which caused a not insignificant amount of oil to run down the pan and pool on the underbody cover before eventually dripping all over my garage floor. Having used a Fumoto valve on my old S2000 (great way to drain oil on that car with all 4 wheels on the ground by the way), I had confidence that a properly installed valve almost certainly would not fail, though I was not sure the ValvoMax would be short enough to close the undertray flap/door that provides access to the drain hole. Well, I can now report that the drain fits with plenty of clearance from the undertray flap; it allowed me to drain oil into a container with no mess; and it has not leaked, though I just installed it and have only driven a few miles. At this point, I’d recommend it, though I’ll surely follow up here in the unlikely event that it causes a problem.

Here's another pic of Oak Green Metallic. Looks beautiful! My pics of the Porsche are courtesy of Yeineken. Would look great on low135's 1er, me thinks.

lol. username checks out.

maybe you need to put each individual part into the tank separately then assemble it with chopsticks?
(that's what most DIY work I do on the N54 feels like)

just be patient my friend. It's easy the second time

Nope. Tried as one piece. No way in hell it's fitting. 2" larger than hole. No matter how it tips it's not going in.
So I took the 2nd bracket off and put it back on in tank. No way to get the top hat/rods into the bracket, all you do it chase it around and never catch it.

"Solution" it is not.

assembling in the tank with chopsticks it is

I've never done what you're doing, I only have a single-pump bucketless - but I remember it was a pain in the neck to get right because you could get a hand in, or see in, or have the top where you want it ... but only one of those three at a time.

If you're dealing with something that's tested, I'm sure there's a way; but I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have have mastered assembling one of these first:

My guess is you get it all in the tank, then find the one obscure angle that lets you push the top-hat into position without having your hand in the tank supporting the bottom. ... Don't be afraid to take a break, have a beer, and keep coming back to it for another try all weekend

... if this is a custom job: all bets are off - good luck

I quit drinking YEARS ago, something like 14 I think.

I'm pretty sure I know what I have to do and I'm just not going to do it ... pull the regulator and reach an arm across. That is just not going to happen.

I think what I'll end up doing is just throw both back in the gutted stock bucket and call it done. I don't see them floating out and they are sardines in there so holding them in place doesn't seem a big deal to me. Maybe a ziptie for good measure.

Congratulations. I've been 'quitting' for about 4 years now. Generally I last about 2 months dry. It's kind of a colloquialism: "have a beer and come back to it" is Australian for "do something else for a while then come back to it with fresh eyes".

Hahahaha. I've been in that situation many times. Take pictures and don't be afraid to post them. There are waay too many solutions posted on these forums that make use of a lathe, or beautiful mandrel bent pipes - and not enough that show off our abilities with small blocks of wood, duct tape and zip ties!

EDIT: Hey, just check and make sure the petrol (Gasoline) isn't going to degrade your zip ties.

So I'm kind of shocked. I recently installed a new pair of Hankook V12's for the rear, about 3-4 months ago. They're already showing significant wear, and I've maybe only put about 4,000 miles on them (at max)

This is crazy odd. This is my second set of these tires, the first set lasted me almost 12,000 miles!

Nuts. I definitely don't think I'll be buying these tires again

It feels wrong to say this but I'm dailying my rs-rr's and so far I love them. Even in rain they are fair. Which looking at them you'd not expect. I haven't had a chance to drive in torrential rain yet and I don't expect them to fair well. But as a A-B tire in situations like that, I'm not afraid with them.

I have about 1,000 or better on them I'd guess. So far no signs of ware. Apart from the expected fun time use.
Man is front grip FUN.

Fixed the cup holder rattle that happens with certain cups. It had been bugging me for a while.
