Comfort access question
My car has comfort access and never worked the 1st couple of years do to the previous owner having a JB4 installed. A year ago or so I had it removed for a custom tune & all of a sudden my comfort access started working properly. My question is do I need to stick the key into the slot periodicity to keep the key battery charged? For some reason I feel like I have read this somewhere.

I don't think so. With the comfort access keyfobs, you only need to change the battery when it starts to not work anymore. It retains its configuration

Non comfort access= internal battery that charges via key slot
comfort access= removable battery that should be replaced when low- no charging via key slot You probably should put the key in to the slot periodically to sync with the car properly especially if you are going to the dealer (dealer reads car info -mileage, maintenance status etc- off key)

Apparently, I didn't put my key in the slot enough or recently before going to dealer one time. I had to get the factory maintenance done and the SA needed to sync my key fob with the car's CBC to finish off the paper work. |

Gotcha. Since last year I have only kept the key in my pocket. This week I have stuck it in the slot several times.
Good information. Glad I asked Thank you |
