Things got a bit complicated it seems.
Is there a way I can find out (based on the VIN) which BMW dealer
order the car? It seems to be the case that the (supposed) original BMW dealer
doesn't have this particular car in the system. Is there a global (a least Europe-wide) system for finding out the origin of a BMW?

2) Yes, they are Xenons. You can tell because theu have the "Halo rings"

3) Havent seen a retrofit for the Auto climate controls. Anyway, it would cost a LOT for just the parts

4) No BMW Ski bag retrofit I know of

5)Thing to worry about with the 320d is previous owner egine abuse, though there havent been many E90 problems on the 320d

6) Car stores milage in multiple locations and will alert you if someone has tried to change it, and will even update it if a new instrument panel is fitted.

7)

On question 1: According to me, this is not Logic 7: you need to have the "Professional" radio in order to be able to order Logic 7 while this one has clearly the "Business" radio installed. The rear door speakers are also there without Logic 7, at least they are in my car (and are also working). I don't have Logic 7, only the "Professional" radio.

Hello

The car in post 1 has the Professional radio.
Notice it has 6 large buttons at the bottom and a large screen, the Business radio only has 4 buttons and a small screen.

You have a E91, and on the E91 there is no rear shelf for the rear speakers, so they put them in the door, even without Logic 7

Contact BMW in your country, they will be able to tell you ( or should )

ME too, i was also thinking that all E90-E91 got speaker in the rear door.

But it would be surprising to find a 320d, without navi and Automatic clima with Pro Logic7 Hifi on board???

First 320d 'va got a major issue with one shocking mount of the engine (Strong vibration when starting or when the clutsch is slipping since a shocking mount could break)

For sure UE model were involved in this issue and there were a callback action.

Anyway the problem is know by the BMW after sale service and need about 2-3 hours to be fixed

Automatic clima, can't be retrofit (or would be very expensive since somes modules of the front panel consol have to be changed- there is also additional mechanical part, like auxiliary water pumpe for "residual heating", thermal and humidity sensor...so a lot of extra electric cables who need a lot of work to be refrofited)

I have also manual clima on my e91, it looks old fashion but it is efficient and quite easy to regulate. if you are not living in a hot country, it is not a must.

Paul330d had a big off-price. But it is a 330d (with a lot of extra) and bought in France (where a 6cyl is not the "norme" and dealers are more flexible if you are buying such a model). Don't except the same off-price on a 320d in UE, which is much more popular and easy to sell for the dealer.
But i am sure that paul330d has also a big talent for negociation

Ask to your BMW dealer, i am sure they can retrofit easily the PDC. (But not for 100 Euros...)

Agreed, I have yet to see another e90 330d on the roads here. My 17% discount was a combination of being friends with the dealer for several years, a special "profession libérale" (self-employed) manufacturer's discount and ordering loads of options (=greater room for manoeuvre for the dealer). You are unlikely to get more than about 11% on a 320d, at least in France.
