My Impreza is down getting some major body work done...So I rolled out with the 1'er to our local meet on Fiesta Is. yesterday. A friend took some nice pics of the cars and this one of mine

And my impreza is fine, no accident or anything. It's just getting a new roof panel welded on since the 2001 impreza RS came standard with sunroofs. Trying to go uber JDM "slash" Tarmac Rally with it so that's why Im ditching the sunroof. Lots of other JDM parts are getting installed as well as some Genuine 22B parts (the rarest of the rare!!) are getting installed and/or color matched...
How my car looked right before I took it in...Yes Ricer I know but it only looked that way for the trip to the bodyshop LOL!

So to mark this weekend's 1st anniversary of owning the 1'er I thought it'd be nice to give it a wash and polish with my new Zaino kit. But in the midst of soaping down the windshield with the wiper arms pulled up and out of the way (as Ive done for the past 20+ years) I accidentally knocked off the wiper blade of the passenger side wiper with my elbow. This then caused the wiper arm to spring back into place, impacting the windshield and cracking it. The $1050 anniversary gift to my car will be done by Wednesday. $1000 Deductible FML

Hi jwalker,

Looks like an interesting project with the impreza. How much hp and torque does it make? If you don't mind me asking, how does overall performance compare to your 135?

I've heard the STIs can get over 400 hp easily with bolt ons. So I'll be taking your response as info to consider if I'm at a stoplight with one.

Thanks its been an ongoing project for ohhhh, 9 years LOL...This particular model (2.5RS) only came with 165hp and was the top of the line Impreza offered stateside before 2002 when the WRX debuted with 227hp. In 2004 the STI with 300hp debuted and that's what motor I have in there now. Currently its at "stage 2" with around 350 crank HP and 380 lb/ft. which is the max I can go without slapping on a bigger turbo. My car also weighs around 2800lbs so It's much lighter than the newer gen Imprezas

In my 1er I have no problems hanging with newer STI's on the freeway and such (no Im not a street racer but I do cruise around with fellow Subaru friends for a spirited drive every once in while

) and stock for stock I think their performance is pretty evenly matched. Off the line though the AWD STI will get the jump (if the driver doesn't bog it) My Impreza, on the other hand, is a lot more aggressive in every aspect, so it feels a lot faster than the 1er and makes gobs of torque in all gears. I can tell you that I've walked past E46 M3's with little effort and I had no problem hanging with my Brother's M6 off the line...and until around 3rd gear then he starts to walk me...

I've seen some interesting comparos online pitting the 135i vs. Subaru and other performance cars and I'm surprised at well well our cars (135i) fair against some of them. It's truly a sleeper right out of the box!!!

Ahhh after 3 months of waiting she's finally back home!!! Some teasers I snapped last night..She's still a bit dirty but I think you guys can overlook that...

My Impreza is pretty much done. (aside from a final color sand and a few JDM Impreza badges/Decals)

The roof scoop is dettachable BTW

I'll save it for Shows/trackdays
