Are SoCalers definitely paying MSRP for 135i?

I'm willing to pay MSRP, but I also want to make sure that I'm getting the best deal possible. Also, how much is the deposit and is it refundable if something doesn't go as planned?
Basically to seal the deal I want a good trade-in value on my 06 350z Roadster (at least 25-26k?). But I'm guessing they won't appraise it till the day I trade it in, which obviously will be the day my car gets delivered. So I'm a little stumped on how I should approach the dealership.
Btw, this will be my first BMW. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions will be appreciated!

Depending on options I think some people are getting below MSRP.. how much? Not sure.. might just want to look through the pricing and ordering section seeing as how not many post in the socal section yet. Just look through to get a general idea and check to see if any of them happen to be in SoCal.

I'm paying MSRP. Both dealerships in southern San Diego Co quoted me MSRP, but I went with a place in north L.A. because they're letting me ED!

I asked friends for recommendations and contacts for local socal dealerships. I put my specs together and emailed four dealers in late January. Two were holding at MSRP, one was $100 below and the last wanted a markup. The one with the markup couldn't even tell me how much they intended to mark it up. I went with the closest dealer to my home at the MSRP. They were also the easiest to deal with.

Can I ask who in LA let you ED?

Yeah, ED MSRP on the base 135 is $32,455 v. normal priced MSRP which is $34,900. A savings of $2,445!

I'm working with Jim Holzmann at Steve Thomas BMW in Oxnard. He's been straight forward with me, and seems competent.

I have not found one dealer in So. Cal that will let the car go for less than MSRP. They know its in demand.

I recommend him, he is my SA.. I put down my deposit with him because the price was the best I could find (infact, the 5 other dealers wanted MSRP) and he is an easy guy to work with. You can let him know Daniel Cheng referred you to him if you like, however, theres no guarantee it'll help.. When I put my deposit down, there were still 2 April production allocations left..

I was quoted MSRP when I placed a depsit on mine. Would be nice to see people get one under MSRP.

Let us know if you are able to find one.

Thanks.

I got mine under MSRP in SoCal. There are a number of others that got a significant amount under MSRP but seemed to have pre-ordered a lot before me.

Sorry guys, I just took Michael's last April production slot this morning. Daniel, you are right about Michael being easy to deal with. He told me that they will have a M3 and 135 demo car in March, but the 135 will be an automatic.

I personally don't think production #'s matter as much as people make them out to be.. I originally was told April production and 2nd to 3rd week of June to expect my car. Since then, I called the 1800# and spoke with a rep there, which told me my production got bumped up to a March production and 2nd week of May at WORST CASE SCENARIO. Being optimistic, maybe April.

Glad you got yourself setup, although I'm kindof sad that the demo car will be an auto.. Mind if I ask you how you did on pricing? Not sure what type of package you put together either though. Perhaps there will be a manual 135i at a dealership closer to me to demo..
