RDS
Has anyone had issues with their display lagging in updating the current song being played on the radio? When I turn to a station the artist and song name come up without an issue but when the next song starts the display doesn't change for the current song. It either updates when the song is half over or more, or in some cases updates to the second song once the third song has started. Does this make sense??

I notice this all the time when listing to HD radio stations. I haven't timed it, but it seems to update on its own schedule, rather than when the songs change.

My can lag up to almost a whole song before it's updated. It's very frustrating. I have an '09 with iDrive. I posted this a while back: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...&highlight=rds
But I'm still not sure how widespread this is since I didn't get a lot of responses, although I see Brian posted in my older thread also. I'd sure like to get this fixed if that is possible. I haven't taken it in yet, since it's only 3 months old and I haven't had any other issues.

I have the same issue where it'll wait an entire song at times too. I've been in other cars where the update happens with no issues at all like we're having.

Interesting to see that other 1's don't have this issue. Looks like both of us have '09's with iDrive. Wonder if anyone else has an '09 with iDrive that the RDS works fine? I guess I'll need to take it in to the dealer at some point.

Yea I will probably do the same with mine, just wanted a bit more feedback from others I guess like you did. Didn't want to make a stink about it if it was normal, though it doesn't seem like it should be

I tried a friends '09 328i with iDrive, and his does exactly the same thing. Funny thing was he hadn't noticed till I pointed it out, and didn't seem to care anyway. So I bet he is not the only one like that.

Took it in to the dealer today, and they claimed they could not reproduce.
There is no trick to reproduce, it happens with every song, but you have to listen through the first song to see the error.

Exactly, the first song always pops up with no issue, it's the next song that is delayed. They told me it has something to do with the HD radio....

Been meaning to post this for a while… I got the latest software installed a couple weeks ago and now the radio station info updates when the song changes, or close enough anyway. It's not listed as a problem the software fixes, but it does fix it. There's some other new things too... I'll post more later.
