I want to be fair, and need the forum's advice
About a week ago, someone agreed to purchase my wheels, and sent me a $50 deposit via paypal. I told him I'd probably be able to dismount them on Sunday, and ship them out Monday.
In the meantime, he seemed to be having buyers remorse and kept asking for more pics, of which I sent him. On Sunday, I called him and told him I had a delay and instead of sending them out Monday, I'd send them Thursday.. his words were, "no problem, just let me know when they are ready to go". Since then, he came up with excuse after excuse to back out. I can't afford to wait an extra week (in essence, it was 3 days). I may have a better deal.. yadda yadda. Eventually, he backed out of the deal, and asked for the $50 back. Being nice, I told him I'd refund his $50 if I sold my wheels quickly as I would not have purchased another set yet, had I not had these sold to him first. Instead of agreeing to this, he has opened a claim with Paypal, and claims to complain to the forum, and now the FBI.. ROTFLMAO! All that being said, I want to be fair, should I refund the money, keep it, or refund it if I sell the wheels quickly? Thanks! -bg8 |

I can't imagine how hard up for cash you must be not to refund him the $50 no questions asked. In fact, YOU changed the terms of the deal and so, he has every right to be refunded. If you had shipped the wheels under mutually agreed upon terms, and THEN he backed out - different story.
+1 for refund.

I would just give him the 50 bucks back. Not worth the headache.

Yeah, I would just refund the $50. Has every right for a refund if product was not sent by specified date and buyer gets buyers remorse.

Well, too late now, but you didn't owe him that. Yes, you changed the terms of the deal, but he accepted the change when he told you it was no problem. So, legally, he wasn't entitled to a refund. And his attitude - threatening to go to the FBI - shows he was just a sleazebag.
But, in the end, you probably did yourself a favor, cause once you sent him the wheels, he'd find reasons to be dissatisfied. Some buyers are a pain in the ass, and you're better off cutting your losses early on.

Exactly, not worth the hassel whether he had a right to the 50 bucks or not.

FBI? so I guess they have nothing better to do then to look at a $50.00 dispute haha.. if indeed the FBI cared about that then I think someone should re-look at their responsibilities.
Its good you sent it back.. for $50.00 it isn't worth the headache. |

Sad part is, this is how this guy gets through life - bullying people to get what he wants. It's a shame he got away with it again, but you're not going to be the one to change a lifetime of bad behavior.

The FBI have a lot more to deal with than a lousy $50... I wouldn't even think the FBI would get involved in a case like this. Lol @ threats these days.
