ilikebmxbikes Raze GT build
Many of you may be familiar with my first build, a v8 1m clone and dedication to the 1series. I started out with goals just to lightly modify my 135i. I kept with the project for several years and many great companies and people partnered on the project to make my dream car a reality.
The car received a ton of press both online and at events. It was displayed at Bimmerfest 3 years in a row, winning 2nd in best modded in 2014, won a 3rd place award at festorics in the clean class (which is insane), got an European Car Magazine cover and title article and was featured on Drive channel's tuned. I am extremely happy with how the car came out and it honestly feels strange to call it finished. It took several years to complete and what felt like endless attention. With my dream car built, what do I build next? BUILD A SECOND In october 2013, Revozport asked me if I could help find them a stock 1m in California to do a 3d scan for a new project they had coming up, the Raze GT. The project was described to me as a 1M on steroids and was being designed for a drift team in Japan. My friend and forum member, Bobby Digital, agreed to donate his car for the scan. I headed down to LA, met Charles at Revozport and we scanned the 1M. Charles explained to me how the 3d scanning was superior to the traditional sculpting approach as not only did it give them more flexibility and accuracy in the design phase, it also ensures far superior fitment. While we scanned the car, Charles suggested I do the Raze GT on my v8 1m clone, which was still being worked on at that time. I softly declined to changed the body work on my build as I feel the 1m's stock looks are perfect. Fast forward, a year, my 1m clone debuted. I sent an update to Revozport and thanked them again for their support and again they offered me a Raze GT kit. I accepted the project and committed to building a sequel car to my first. Why another 1series? One of the best things about my s65 swapped 1M Clone is that it is a car that starts a conversation. Its a build that people stop and look at for a long time and it often sparks the same arguments. NA vs FI, HP vs TQ, modern m3's growing weight, 1m's merit as an M car, and questions of why BMW didnt put an s65 in the 1m all come up as people look over the car. As with all arguments, there are two sides. My s65 swapped 1m clone, despite being entirely modified, is an NA extremely purist focused car, the new build will be FI and more extreme. They will each represent a side of the discussion and despite being so similar, will be very different in purpose and driving experience. Revozport, VT Motorworks, Stoptech, ToyoTires, TargaTrophy, Dinan, Braid Wheels, Mmi, Ravenol, AST Suspension, Momo, Sam@Autotalent, and MikeBenvo@BPMsport are all in support of the Raze GT and it will again be exciting to team up and build another dream machine. Normally when Revozport sends me stuff I do airfreight as it only takes 2 days for products to get from Hong Kong to my door but with this kit being so large, I opted for Ocean Freight. Ocean Freight typically takes 3-4 weeks and is considerably cheaper than sending it via air. The kit shipped out of Hong Kong on the vessel Mol Competence. When tracking my order, I felt like the guys in the European Delivery threads tracking their new cars as they shipped over the ocean. Once the vessel arrived, everything was unloaded and brought to a warehouse for me to pick up. They contacted me and let me know it was ready. I borrowed a truck and headed over to pick it up. They brought all the cargo over to the loading area and I was blown away by how much there was there. In addition to the Raze GT kit, Revozport sent an e46 m3 roof, an extra e82 roof, an extra 1m oem diffuser and a few other products for some friends' builds. Some carbon fiber door cards stuffed in All loaded up We brought the boxes to the shop to sort out and make sure everything got there safety on the long journey. Everything was packed so well and it took FOREVER to unbox everything. Glad to say everything arrived in perfect shape. Bumper: Wing: All revozport products are individually serialized for quality control. You can admire the weave. Rear bumper Carbon trunk being waited to be unwrapped Fenders Carbon roof and hood more weave porn Last edited by ilikebmxbikes; 06-17-2019 at 03:32 PM.. |

Wow awesome build. This is a little bittersweet to me because I LOVE the way your car looks. Are you parting out the 1m parts?

Sheesh, for a second I thought you were going to use the white 1 M. Not a fan of widebody kits, I don't like the trend (is it a trend now?), but the fact that it is you, I'm kind of calm. I'm looking forward to it and thanks for sharing your new project with us. Good luck.

This widebody is functional and this car will be driven. Its going to be an airstrip toy but we will drive it on the track. Its only an inch or so wider than an actual 1M so its no so outrageous. With such an extreme body kit, i will also keep it classy with a toned down color. Likely white like its brother. |

Looking forward to seeing you complete this.
Sorry if I missed it, but does the kit come with rear fenders as well?

If this build is anything like your last (which I still look at an admire almost daily) I cannot wait to see what becomes of this! Are you still thinking about keeping the N54 and modifying it, doing another S65 or possibly bringing in something like a Dinan S3-R S65, ESS Supercharger, etc etc?
