anyone want to get some driving pictures at the 9/20 autocross?
after getting that one professional-level picture from the may auto-x, i want more
does anyone want to trade cameras and take a few shots of me driving while you're working the cones? of course i'll return the favor the one catch - we'll need to be in opposite run groups for this to work. non-B-class guys (artmasterX, ML and bimmerbaron), i'm looking at you!

I would certainly do it if I can get lucky enough to be an alternate worker one time. I have a Nikon D60, but nothing special in the way of lenses, just the basic 18-55 and 55-200.
Last time the issue of photographers on the course came up, it was explicitly stated that workers cannot take pictures, and the photographer must be a ways off the course when photographing. So if you tried during a working assignment, you would likely get yelled at or worse. I usually bring my camera, I just have never had time to take pictures with working and driving.

I've got a couple of lenses that may be still be compatible with the D series Nikons, at least as long as you don't use the matrixed autofocus features (the simple centerweighted autofocus should work). I can bring them Sunday.

If there were a couple of us on setup in different run groups, along with Amy, that would take care of the need for a photographer and spotter so that we be sure to catch a shot of everyone.

Larry -- are you going to have your pit crew gear at auto-x? I need to pull my convertible top module out on Sunday so that I can take Orca in for her new top. And there's a couple of 17mm hex bolts that I need to take off to remove the seat back.
If anyone wants to see the inside of my convertible mechanism, she'll be exposing herself. amy! |

I'll have some tools available, but likely no time to be able to help. Anybody else could use them to help though, Amy! So, she'll be showing us what's under her top, eh????
Regarding picture taking. Course workers are not to have cameras out there, or be using cellphones, MP3 players, etc. It's too dangerous. Photographers are required to have spotters too. Maybe some of the known spectators could go out and take some pics???? I think I'm going to do some in car video. Miguel is going to be there, and he may have those hi-def rigs with him.. not sure yet. |
