Thanks for the pics the passenger side looks like a better solution as it's less intrusive. I will mount mine on the passenger side, the driver side is reserved for my pluggers when I'm driving

Yeah and plus if it comes off there won't be no extinguisher to your feet!

Yes that'd be quite helpful if you could mate
I took a look under the seat and noticed a black unit already bolted in to two of the holes (I don't have HiFi so not really sure what it is? The unit number ends with 196 935 02). Which leaves 3 or 4 holes for this bracket..

Ahh yes the black unit, thats held there on a bracket with 2 screws coming down from the seat. you can pop the actual black box out to get clearance to the larger mounting hole (that matches the another of the same size closer to the centre of the car) and replace once you have tightened up the new bracket.

Any chance we can see some photos of the bracket mounted up close without the fire extinguisher in the way? I had a look under my seat and not sure how this would work.

Yeah I guess it could be a sub woofer. The box is really small so it's no wonder I didn't think of that before lol.. you can barely feel anything!

Ah I'll try popping it out tonight then. If it comes loose I can measure the holes quite easily... although it'd still be helpful to know the length of the L bracket if you could kindly measure it for me?

have a look at #59, identical to my L bracket, i think we even have the same SCA branded fire extinguisher as you can see on the right where the mount has been nudged over 10-15mm

Ok so you have the distance between the holes in the seat and extinguisher mount.

i'll measure FROM the large holes in the seat forward to the right angle and from the right angle DOWN to the holes on the front bracket that you will tap for the extinguisher mount.

I am guessing something like 60-70mm and 100mm.

If you look at the post on the previous page it's the one ending in 022. The pics I took you can see the part numbers on the plastic bags

DISCLAIMER : it was a little tricky to get exact measurements so approximately.

From the large holes in the seat forward to the right angle 50mm
From the right angle DOWN to the holes on the front bracket 75mm

I hope that helps

Hey guys quick question.

How long did it take to receive the mounting parts? I have a track night in 2 weeks and I am wondering if I can beat the clock or am I better off fabricating a bracket from scratch.

Mmmmm it'll be close. I'd say if you have the ability/equipment give it a go

Cheers mate,

I might order it anyway. But at the same time I will fabricate something up as well. I don't plan to keep a fire extinguisher in the 1 at all times unlike my other car.

Just a quick update, I left it quite last minute but I did a quick mount last night in prep for tonight’s track meet.

It is actually VERY easy to make a basic mount using flat bar and the factory seat mounts. All you need is 40/50mm flat bar and you are good to go. I am happy with how it turned out. The extinguisher is quite concealed and it still allows seat movement.

Measure up:

Seat forward:

Seat back:
