Might have also gotten away with just a fluid and filter change, but I had already made up my mind that I didn't want to deal with it anymore and if I was going to spend time and money on it, I might as well just make sure it got fixed correctly the first time. |

Just dropped off my car at the dealer this morning I can confirm we do start leaking in either side pan, or oil pan gasket...they said my side pan gasket is leaking after getting an alignment last week and they need to drop the transmission to replace it. Luckily, it is only about $700 for me labor+parts (employee discount) but do beware DCT owners, I had no temperature warnings! maybe I caught it on time but please check it on yours before its too late!

My 2010 135i DCT had some overheating messages show up on the idrive. Was planning to get it checked out for leaks but the car only has 40,000kms on it. is it common for them to have problems at this mileage?

No it’s not. It’s the same transmission as in the 335is, e9x m3, m2/3/4, last gen m5. It’s very durable.
