Someone mentioned that BMWs are expensive and all that, but this is getting out of hand. Only time will tell..
No crack here, and I wouldn't know where you could find any. Outrageous or not, the 128i convertible will come in around $37K. That's my prediction, and I'll stand by it. When the official pricing comes in, and if I'm way off base, I'll be happy to come back here and eat crow. Again, people, remember what the old 325ci 'vert was selling for a couple years ago... $37K. And that was before the U.S. dollar really tanked. BMW was never in the business of selling cheap, folks, and the poor dollar/Euro exchange rate only aggravates the situation. As painful of a reality that is, it's the truth. I know that some of you are dreaming of $25K coupes and $30K convertibles, but it's just not happening. Sorry.

Two completely different models and one (328i) that comes with a significantly more expensive folding hardtop. You can not justify the price of the 128i convertible simply because the 328i is expensive comparatively.

I called BMW and the salesman there said that he is expecting the 1 seres 128 to be in the high 20s and the 135 to be in the low 30s. Take it for what its worth...

If this is the case then the 128i conv. better come with a lot of goodies(unlikely b/c thats not bmw's style). Wow, I cannot wait until the pricing is released. Its nice that their going to have a conv. b/c then it sorta puts a small cap on how high the coupes will be. If their too high then they'll flop.

There is no 135i convertable. Secondly, the base 128i will not be that high.

We will know soon enough.

The 1 series is going to be at the LA auto show, and they will put a price on it. Plus BMWUSA says you will be able to build a 1er on their site in the fall.

ASK A SALESPERSON!

Yes, they are clueless about new model information, but this is a standard BMW ordering question...

My prediction:

BMW will force us all to pay for our 1-series with sausages and beer!

Really though, why make predictions? Just wait ~3 weeks and hear it from BMW themselves. No matter how much you want the 135 to retail for 30 grand, reality will come crashing down just the same, or we will all be pleasantly surprised. This is all just mental masturbation, why torture yourselves?
