Winter to Summer?
For those of us that live to the north I am just wondering when you make the change from your winter wheel/tire set-up to your summers???

When the day-time highs are greater than +7C and the night-time lows don't go below freezing.

Im hoping i can wait till the first week of April, but if the temps start going consistently over 40 degrees F before then itll be best to change em out earlier. Think I switched em around then last year.

I'm horrible at guessing, so I let Mother Nature decide. Once the forsythia starts budding (not blooming), I believe nature is saying that winter is over. The way this year has been, I expect that to be sometime the first or second week of Never this year.

I always do it either the 2nd or 3rd w/e in April. Sometimes we get the odd snowfall in late April/early May, but I refuse to have winters on my car for 6 months of the year. Plus when we do get snowfalls that late in the year, the snow melts within a day. The day I put my summer wheels on is always, for me, one of the best days of the year!

I just took my winters off and put my summers back on yesterday because I was trading the car...
If you can help it, don't do it until it's much warmer (I'd say 40F durring the days). If you guys are running anything UHP like the Star-Specs I was "scary" really doesn't do the feeling justice. Cold pavement is bad, but you get into any semi-slippery conditions and you are f'd. Hold out as long as you can.. haha. |

As soon as it looks like we're mostly in the 50s. Probably late March if I'm lucky.
