I don't think you did a bad thing at all. My dad temporarily got the 335i as a rental when he was having problems with his bimmer and it was one of the most enjoyable rides I have been in. I think the 335i is great and hope you enjoy it, hopefully you remain satisfied.

Congrats on the new ride. I doubt that you will regret it, especially after you break in the engine...Drive it hard and enjoy it in good health!
post more pics if you can....

Lease deal info is on the first page of this thread......and I will put more pics up soon, just been too busy driving the damn thing

Also, I have been reading up on the JB S1 and it seems a lot of people are opposed to the S1 because all it does is increase boost and doesn't alter A/F ratios. Basically, the S1 is some wires and a resistor.....kinda has me thinking twice.

Yea you could make it yourself for <5 bucks... I was going to suggest you read up on it. Glad you did?

I've had it for almost 1k miles without the slightest hint of a problem. Granted, this is not much in the grand scheme of things, but I get the impression the boost increase is well within the factory engine management adjustment range, unless you live at high altitude. In which case, I'd get the S2 which also alters the A/F ratio.

Simplicity in design and execution is not a flaw, quite the contrary. Some of the more complex piggyback solutions are fraught with installation issues, gas issues, engine codes - in addition to the much higher price.

Even when these issues are taken care of, you have to consider the longevity and reliability of the engine when running *twice* as much boost as stock (from 8.5psi peak to over 16psi peak).

I could afford either one - but chose to go with simple & durable this time around. I'll revisit the more expensive options when they have proven themselves over time.

It's only better because of the ease of installation. Otherwise, it does the exact same thing as JB S1, and less than JB S2.

I'm currently considering JB S2 just for fun, not because I need any additional power. But at these prices, why not experiment a little bit?

I fight this temptation every frickin' day!!

I sold my Z3 coupe (stupid!stupid!stupid!) in February (stupid!), and have been without a car ever since. I am commited to waiting for the 1er, but this is pretty damn frustrating, and it is going to be a cold winter. It sure would be nice to spend the winter in a 335i instead of waiting for the wife out on the curb!

This is with 63% residual and a MF of .00175
That is a phenomenal deal. Certainly, if you want a 335i, the sedan MF is much, much better than the coupe..

BTW, you are going to have to get some pictures up. I'd love to see how that leatherette looks. I've got leatherette in my MINI and love it half to death but I am curious to see how it compares to a 'real BMW' leatherette.

I promise to get some up tomorrow. It is black leatherette with brushed alluminum trim. Have any specific picture requests? I am sure everyone here has seen enough pics of the 3 so there aren't really any surprises. I will def get some close ups of the leatherette, though.

I say you go for it. Yeah it's a lease and you have to give it back at the end (unless it's a better deal to buy out the lease of course), but you're going to drive this thing for 3 years. Have as MUCH fun as you possibly can every day of those three years. Don't wait because then you'll kick yourself for not maximizing your fun factor while you can.

Think of it this way: With 1500 spent in mods you are only spending $500/yr or $42/mth or $1.37/day. I don't know about you, but I assume if you bought a $40k car you have an extra $1.37 a day laying around.

Boost is fun. More boost is more fun.
