Hmmm
In the spring I will be test driving the new M3 and compairing it to the Porsche Cayman S, then I will weigh the cost against a modified 135i and make my decision.
I've looked at Audi RS4, Corvette Zo6, Mitsu Evo and others... I really dislike the e90 interior, less I would already own a 335i. Unfortunately the M3 has the same interior... so who knows :iono: The Porsche is remarkable but it's not refined enough for long road trips. Who knows, perhaps the 135i will be just about right.I really like the spartan'esque interior and the smaller overall dimesnions. We'll see. -Garrett |

in order of preference/likleyhood; 135i, 335, new M3, Cayman S, (best car I've ever driven), new or used 997, mitsu evo X, and a new Vette.
This post is actually very interesting. I'm happy to see others have as diverse a bunch of choices as I do. I think it really shows how some of us cross over a lot of "un-related" markets. Aparently most people choose within a very narrow market segment related strictly to price. Some of the thinking here obviously relates to how dynamic a car is, not a price category. Alot of Cayman S converts. |

350z, slightly used Porsche Cayman S, 335i (sedan) The sedan is the same car and going for 5k less than the coupe, used 911.
All of these cars are more than I would care to spend right now, ughh. |

I'm looking for a cheap, lightweight, RWD 2+2 coupe...
Not much out there right now except the Mustang and RX-8 (miata,s2k,solstice,sky just won't cut it since they are 2 seaters). G37 is too porky (3668 lbs for the 6spd), and all the other RWD cars are over my budget. Even tho' I can afford a $45K car, I just can't justify spending that much on a depreciating asset. If the 128i doesn't come in at an attractive price point, I just might keep my current daily driver and buy a old weekend only car (20 y/o 911 or some other foolish toy ) I've only got 65K on my CLS, so I'm not in any rush. With the GM alpha rumors flying around, rumors of a Lexus 1-series competitor, and Hyundai RWD tib coming out soon, there'll be lots of choices for affordable RWD cars soon enough... |

GreenMonster -
Think used - Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa - less weight than the G37 (but not much less ; -), lovely Ferrari V8 in a front engine/rear drive configuration and the Ferrari SMG manumatic. Take this with an extra large grain of salt and call me in the morning. ; -) |

I assume you mean the new Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo X? Definitely needs a drive.
The closest competitors for my garage would be exactly those 4: 135, STI, EVO, and Turbo X. The latter is a wildcard, because my wife loves Saab's. I don't, but what the heck, I'd give it a try. Other than that, nothing else for me, really. |

I wouldn't totally discount it. I'm not a fan of reactive AWD systems, per se, but the new Haldex system is being touted as fast enough to have a nice performance benefit.
Back in the day, a Saab Turbo was hot. Lots of torque, a floppy chassis, and stiff dampers made for an, uh, entertaining ride. I give it a 15% chance of being as much fun as my current STI. |
