January arrival

I'm first in line at my center, and my CA just emailed me about 10 minutes ago stating that the coupes may actually hit the US shores in January of 08, not March. Can anyone confirm this? If anyone doubts this PM me and I'll provide my center and CA's name so you can verify it directly.

There's no way they'll be in the showroom before then.

My sales guy told me the same thing and it was debated on the forum for quite a bit. I have no reason to doubt you or the fact that it could be delivered at the end of January. Only time will tell for sure.

Our BMW Center Parts Mgr. recently returned from a BMW NA meeting. They were told by BMW NA that the Performance line (parts) for the 1er will launch in Feb. They want centers to have the parts available before the car launches. BMW NA continues to state a launch date of 03.22.08

My salesman told me he saw the car, in person, and was told at that event that first deliveries would be in December. So, I gave him a deposit. I'm not going to be very happy if it turns out to be 3 months later.

I'll keep looking, but haven't found the thread yet that discusses this topic.

Hey Potatoe, have you heard of or seen that documentary "The Bridge" about the pervasiveness of suicides by people jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge? - very poignant and moving.......It's quite a paradox, such beauty punctuated by tragedy....

I look forward to visiting San Fran in 08 when hopefully my 2nd favorite band The Raconteurs will probably play a show or 2.....

Considering 1-Series Coupe does not go on sale in Europe until the end of November and the car has not made it's debut in the US, your client advisor has mislead you. The car will debut @ the detroit Auto Show towards the end of Jan.

Nope, haven't seen that either. There's been talk for years about installing a fence, to stop the jumpers, but it costs money and many fear the fence would disfigure the bridge.

Can't answer for Ichiban's CA, but mine indicated that they were not going to be released simultaneously. That the coupe would be in Jan and the vert in March. He promised me hard data on that soon, so assuming he comes through you guys will be the first to know.
