128i Near End of Life for Me

Hi Everyone,

In the eight years that I've had the car maybe I've posted a couple of times, but I wanted to give a review of my 2009 128i as I've read many informative information about our cars from you guys "Thank you"!

I bought the car in Nov of 08. Year of One Ring Starter Button.
What can I say about the car, it has been an absolute driving experience.
From the first time I picked it up, I knew it was going to be a FUN car.

When the car was under warranty the only major problem was the AC condenser. It was replaced and it's worked perfect ever since.
The car would visit the dealer when a scheduled maintenance was due.

After the warranty ran out, I've replaced the battery. A just in case because on six year old battery. I've done all scheduled maintenance on my own which has saved money.

At 84,000 miles I either have a bad TPMS or bad receiver module antenna because a warning light tells the system is inactive to monitor the tire pressure. I did replace the factory rims and sensors about three years ago and have not any issues until now.

What can I say I love the car, but things have changed in eight years.

Five years ago my family grew, so having a baby chair at the beginning and now a boaster chair is not easy in and out. So we would rely on my wife's X3 to go everywhere. The X3 ended up with to many miles and could not balance between the two cars. We ended up getting an X5 last June. My wife never wanted the car because she said it was too much money and I understand her. She wanted a Jeep

Now my wife wants a Labrador dog. So, I figured I trade in my car stay with the X5 and she's get's the Jeep and dog and like the saying says "Happy Wife Happy Life".

So my fellow BMW enthusiast that's why my 128i might be going to a different home. So will see...

Good Luck in what ever you decide to go with. At least you still have a BMW in the family.

Don't do it.....you will regret it.

Hardly any cost to insure, cheap to maintain, not worth much in the big scheme of things.

Drive that thing a million miles and smile the whole way.

It's sad to hear that. Bigger family means bigger car, sad fact. But at least you had great times with that little devil.

I finally made the decision to turned in my car at CarMax.

After doing some research I found it for sale at the link below.

http://themiamiautostore.com/2009-BM...4/Details.aspx

The car was in mint condition.

Kind of a positive for CarMax in that they stock cars that aren't of questionable history.
