Brief Update

Hi Everyone,

So it's been a bit slower getting some of the modding done than I was hoping, with travel and kids, etc. to deal with, but I got the car cleaned up over the weekend, and give her a quick wax (except for the front bumper which is in such rough shape waxing just makes it worse). Since my last update I've put on the APEX EC-7 anthracite wheels (8.5x18 ET45 Front and 9.5x18 ET58 rear), and put some 265/35 MPSS on the rear. I'm still waiting for the fronts to burn out before I replace them with some 235/40 MPSS. Does anyone know for sure if 245/35 MPSS will fit on the front with stock suspension and APEX wheels? I'm under the impression that they won't unless you add a bit of extra camber. I'm planning on putting some Megan Racing coilovers on the car soon, so this may end up being a moot point.

I was also inspired by Chadillac2000 to paint the center of my ECS rear rotors black so they match the fronts. It does make a noticeable difference and I'm really happy with how it turned out. However, I must say, painting them after they are already installed is a much bigger pain in the ass than just painting them before they are installed. Lots of blue painters tape was sacrificed

The calipers are looking a bit beat up and I'm planning on breaking down them down and having them painted in the BMW M blue with Brembo overlays in white. Sorry to copy Chadillac2000 again, but those calipers just look awesome! Plus the blue will match my center stripe for my new alcantara steering wheel that I have coming soon from Coby Wheel

At any rate, here are a few shoddy iPhone pics I shot of the car this AM before heading to work

I've been summoned! But all jokes aside, car looks phenomenal. There are still days I regret not getting white over black. Glad to see you followed suit on the black ring for the rear ECS rotors to make them appear to be 2-piece. It's nearly impossible to see the difference unless you're aware they aren't the same are looking closely. I'd stick with the 235 combo up front if you aren't dialing in any camber. I travel long distances daily and value tread wear over turn in, so I wanted to keep camber near stock for tire longevity. If you're adding coilovers and more camber, you shouldn't have a problem moving up to the 245 width up front.

A set of nicely done powdercoated blue calipers to break up the anthracite wheels on white car would really set things off.

Did you have any info you'd be willing to share on the guy who powdercoated your calipers? I've looked a bit around OK and have found a few places that will powdercoat the calipers, but nobody that will also rebuild them. The caliper pistons and boots are in reasonably good shape, but I wouldn't mind rebuilding them with new components since they will be apart anyways.

Josh at Detective Coatings is whom I dealt with and it was a pleasure. I'd definitely recommend him.

Here's my summary of what he rebuilt in mine: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=107
