great to hear that you are also entranced by the allure of the Range Rover Sport Supercharged. it wasn't stupid fast like the cayenne, but it did everything better than the Porsche -- with style and taste
i made a goal for myself to purchase the updated version in 2 yrs when it will have 500hp:thumbup:

2004 Z4 3.0i - I think there are quite a few of us Z4 pilots that switched to the 135i.

2006 Lexus IS-350. Extremely refined and surprisingly fast. My wife who can't drive a stick talked me into it as a "compromise" car. I drove it for 6 months before realizing I couldn't live without a stick.

Sold the Z before I deployed. Had the car for 5 years. I'm going to miss it, but it was time to move on. I had forged BBS REs on the Z which I really liked. Never thought I'd buy the same wheels again but if they fit I may get them for them for the BMW. The 135 is built, but now I'm just waiting for word as to when it's going to be shipped. I really hope it beats me back to the Sates so it's waiting when I get back. May be on the bike for a while, but I guess that's a good thing with the gas prices.

I think my story is very heartwarming.

I had the first WRX model in the states the month it came out. I swapped that for an STi in 2003. I had that car until the end of 2006. I traded it in for a Forester XT as a surprise Christmas present for my wife, did the whole giant bow in the driveway thing. The XT is a damn near perfect vehicle.

Unfortunately, it's hers, so since then I've been driving her old '99 Lexus RX300, which is a good vehicle i guess, but an absolute torture for someone like me to drive. I never expected to drive it this long, but it took me a year and a half to decide what car I wanted. My pain ends tomorrow morning when I pick up my 135i.

I am a former biker...

I sold my 2003 Harley Davison Road King. My legs are really important to me, and I am pretty attached to them. So I have no issues with having sold the bike and bought a "fairly" quick car.
Peace...

Will be coming from a 2003 WRX once the 1 arrives. I'm looking fwd to no turbo lag, but will miss the all-the-sudden g-force burst and awd.

Is anyone here surprised by how many different markets BMW is pulling in with the 1er? Seems like everything from the BMW loyalists to the WRX and S2000 crowds, right up to the middle age folk just wanting a car to cruise around in. It also surprises me as to for how many people the 1er is their first BMW.
