Guess this confirms it for me, gonna powdercoat my stock wheels and then go with the Conti DWS for my winter setup, I normally don't need a winter setup being from oklahoma but I'm gonna be working from Ohio for a while, so might as well get them powdercoated then get the new tires, I think it will look great. I've got the shadowline trim as well. Though i will miss my VMR 710s. I'll be sure and post pics when i get it done.

I think you'll be happy with how it turns out. I am really happy with mine, and was thinking of getting new wheels in the Spring but I may hold off and do other mods instead since the wheels turned out so well.

Not sure if you're asking me or the OP, but I paid $425, that included dismounting my old tires, powder coating them, and mounting/balancing up my new snow tires. (that alone was worth at least $100 around here anyway) So I was happy with that price.

Got bored today, decided to try plastidip. 20$ and 3 hours later! What you guys think?
Before Dip.

Here's what it looked like while i was working on my winter wheels. Actually had my summer setup on while I went on a cruise through some twisties today. Such a Nice day, almost 60 degrees, I forgot how much stickier my summer tires are!

After Plastidip.

Thanks! I've heard 6-12months longetivity, so not the longest, but I can always peel it off and do it again. For scrapes and such, i'd just wash it off and rinse it, then hit it with the can again, you don't even have to worry about overspray really, just overspray heavy, then once it is dry, start pulling on the rubber overspray on the tire and it usually comes off in 1 piece. I was wondering how it would look, now that I know, I may still go ahead and have them powdercoated this fall, unsure as of yet, if this stuff holds up I may just keep doing this for a while, as no wheel unmounting necessary with this stuff.

Looks fantastic!!
Can you take a close up picture?

I really want to do this since I like the idea of pealing it off ( to avoid potential resale issue).

Yeah i can, gonna be a bit though. I'd say just go ahead and do it. 20$ and 3-4 hours of your time. Definitely worth it. Just do about a can per wheel.
