+1, while I prefer the stick too, that was totally unnecessary

Jeez - at 58 I'm certainly not the oldest, but the preponderance of 1 series owners (at least on the Web) seem to be whipper-snappers!
Get off my lawn!

well the forums are the enthusiast bunch for the most part, so expect that the autos are pretty unrepresented on here

25 Manual...props to the older gentleman who still drives standard at 73 y/o. IMO 135=manual in order to be enjoyed....128=auto or manual who cares(Theyre not performance oriented cars). I almost didnt buy the 135 because when I test drove a 335I in december of 2007(when I ordered the 1er) I was really disapointed with the auto 335I(I dont 2 different ones). They had no manual cars available for test drive because Bmw dealership around here mostly order theyre cars with an Auto gearbox .
If I was forced to drive an SUV Id have to buy a manual Cayenne GTS....cause Ill never drive auto. Im over at my parents for easter and I just drove my dads CVT altima to go buy some coca cola down the street.....I almost fell asleep.

45 and manual. BTW, I'm a soccer/football mom, what does that have to do with a stick shift or not! : )

Of course but I mean...no big brakes, less hp etc. Its a fun daily like every other non M-Bmw. The 135 IS NO ///M but it has the brakes, aero, etc

34 manual- strictly manual cars since I had a license and as long as I have one went FWD for a year and am done with that too:
83 Celica- AKA rust back but it ran like a clock to 180k 84 Supra- great GT bulletproof also 91 MR2T- few quirks, some lag but a great little sports car 02 C230C- great GT for the $, great on long hauls, very underrated, end of warranty was the end of line for me but I do miss this car not the nagging issues tho 06 TL- great power and good value but just not fun to drive hard AT ALL no more FWDs |

I disagree. I have a 135. And quite frankly I love it. Would I like a stick, yeah. But the 135 with paddles in sport mode is still a hell of a ride.
And ive driven stick cars, (Audi RS4, and an old Mustang GT). Yeah they are a bit more fun. But I dont think I could ever heel toe perfectly every time like my auto does on a downshift. And wow. 4 17yr olds? I thought I was all by myself.
