So you do a lot of city driving then? Thats is a about what my, lightly modded, 06 GTO M6 was getting in city driving.
Mine is between 21-23 mpg while I drive 70% highway and 30% city. One way to work is about 11 miles and I drive back home for lunch. So I drive at least 44 miles a day for work and who knows what other miles when going out and about. My car is a '12 135i M6. |

My 09 128 seems to be just over 17.1 I'm kinda suprised it's not higher for me I don't drive it hard and only city it maybe some fuel cleaner from autozone to get those lost miles! Lol

08 135i. 20.8mpg w JB4 and DCI only. Spirited driving almost daily, rarely sees highway. Its also rare for my car not to see WOT every time it is driven. Wondering if i can avg 25 if I babied it.. But realistically, i'll never find out, not my fault going fast is so fun!

My tuned 135 is about 20-21 (70/30 highway)
I see about 27-28 on the highway (ironically same as my 600+hp vette) I would expect much better on the 128. on the same run our 530xi (higher output n52 but compared to 128 +600lbs and awd) would get about 23.5 and was awesome on the highway. My parents just drove it 1000 miles from florida with the car filled with stuff and got 31mpg.

I would mix 87 instead of E85. Ethanol is corrosive in fuel systems not designed for it. California mixes ethanol with all grades of fuel, but it's only about 10-15%.

im stock! and i get 18.1 mpg local and highway. I try to drive at a slow place to save mpg and thats the best i can average. I was concern about this too because they claim 20, 28 mpg but its impossible to get it.

Just got my car on Tuesday and expect some changes once break in is over. The first tank of gas was all highway and I got 29.4 according to the car and 29.3 according to the miles divided by the amount of gas added. I am about halfway through my second tank now and seeing a more expected 22 with a mix of in town and highway.

Mine's a 2012 135i with 6MT just picked up in December. Mileage is very disappointing. I've been averaging 14.8 MPG around Honolulu. Don't get a chance to test highway much except for very short sprints so don't know what it would do. The car is so far off published stats I asked the assistant service manager about it and he said that that was about what people get around town here. These cars are tuned for high speed autobahn running, not in town errand running, but it's still depressing to go only 160-170 miles between fill ups.

Sounds like something wrong! My dead stock 2011 135i M6 has been averaging 21-22 for the ~2 years I've owned it. I don't think I've ever seen under 20.

my 2011 135i DCT gets 22-23 and my driving is pretty suburban. Never been less than 20. I drove from NY to TN in October and got about 26 the whole way highway.

I am sitting at 24.5 after about 160 mixed miles in my 135.
I didn't think that was great until I read all these posts! I would expect better in a 128 but apparently not! |

I'm averaging about 19. Mostly city/suburban driving.
I can squeeze about 22 if I pay attention to driving conservatively. But I like to hear the engine. I'm a little surprised in a good way that I'm getting 19ish and not babying the throttle. |

I am at about 20mpg and my conditions are horrible : only 2 miles commute with a bunch of stop signs, the engine does not get a chance to get hot. when I have long drives in non stop and go condition (even in the mountains), I manage to average 28mpg but i never averaged less than 20
