whot did you think 1st drive of M1 was like?

Had my first drive of M1 Yesterday after weeks of looking on youtube at the good reviews by almost everyone! Everyone cannot be wrong can they???

Well after checking car over! A minter of a M1 and loveing the wide kit!
i jumped into the Hot seat with the salesman rushing to put his belt on

First thort was! nice ride (not to hard) sharp steering! then opened it up comeing out of a rounderbout and the back end flipped out a little and away i went upto around 6500rpm before changeing! Did notice most the grunt is straight away! then its quite flat!!

So after drive im still really unshure if its really that quick?? and if the 40k price tag was way to steep for a kitted 1 series!!

It's one of BMWs best creations, does it have insanely fast straight line speed? No but it's pretty damn fast. My brothers fren has one I drove it a couple times it's a "special" car. You can't go wrong but if you aren't loving the car right from the start idk if it's the car for you.

I've had a 1M for the past year and old man has a C63 with the Performance Pack. In terms of outright speed there is no contest, the C63 will muller a 1M. Would I change my 1M for a C63 though, I can't say I haven't thought about it, but I couldn't do it.

The noise of a C63 though with those Auto Blips

Hee Jonny,

Glad you like the 1M and your first drive. Interestingly the car will be even quicker with better tires & suspension, as in other threads there just a discussion going on how best put all the power down.

On the price tag: 1Ms (the crowd here is quite discerning about the proper naming: officially it's called '1M Coupe') haven't depreciated as much as other cars would, IMO if you have doubts on the price tag after reading the reviews and driving it yourself, you might wanna test drive an Ariel atom or something even wilder

To answer your original question, My first drive was a boring 4 hour+ traffic jam somewhere between Munich and Frankfurt in which I was supposed to break in the car ... . After break in, it's still smilles all around.

OEM tires (Michelin PS2 245f/265r) are OK, but PSS are better (and cheaper) so that is what most switch to for street tires.

happy fishing!
