Oil catch can installed

Just finished installing an oil catch can on my E82 N55. I didn’t like the Mishimoto kit. The hoses are too long and I didn’t like the routing. I didn’t like the BMS kit because it leaves the heater connection unplugged. Both were ridiculously expensive. So I designed my own. The hoses are short and it maintains the heater connection. I made a custom bracket for the can out of aluminum angle. I used ¾” heater silicon hose and each run has a 90 degree elbow. Every connection is clamped. Yes the area where the stock hose is located is very tight so getting the inlet and outlet hoses to fit was a challenge. But it worked out and everything is rock solid. All the parts were less than $60.

Don’t understand your reason for installing on a N55, google N55 and oil catch can and you can see why.

Most Owners report little or no residue, n54 is another matter

I’ve got a 2012 N55 with a catch can. Every few months I find it’s 1/2-2/3 filled with water. There’s a little bit of oil residue but 99% water.

The way I see it, sure there’s no oil that would have gunked up the valves (like in my prior 2 N54s) but keeping that water out of the motor can’t be a bad thing.

Where is this tapped into that it's picking up the vapors to condense?
