Hi, i actually just bought the BMS short shifter and shifteck shift rod for my E82. When i installed it, there's a couple things i found odd:

1) The opening at the shifter end of the DSSR is too wide, or the plastic washer is too thin. The result: there is significant side-to-side play between the new shifter and the DSSR. There was no play here with the stock one.
2) The shifter can move up and down 1/8" in the ball socket. Is this intentional? I see there is a spring holding a collar down against the ball but this spring seems very weak; will this not result in shifter play?

I wrote BMS but they were not any help. Any idea if these things are OK, was your like that? Will the side-to-side play take away from transmission feel? I've got videos of the slop but not sure how to post them here.

Sounds about right, I stopped buying their products because of this.
BMS doesn't care if they sell products with issues.
