LOL...yeah I guess you are right...My prior car was bought in '03 a used '99 E39 (German spec, M-sport), and I have also previously owned an E30 (also German spec), VW Golf, Opel Kadett GTE, Dodge Shadow ES(Dodge could have done so much with that car...small 2-door coupe w/V6..smaller than the 1er) and finally the first and worst car I ever owned: an '89 Olds Cutlass Calais S.....sideways motor and just a pain in the rear end...LOL

When will my Maverick arrives?

I ordered mine on 5/27/2008 and the present status is in production, will be completed by June 11th. Can anyone tell me when can I expect my car? Also how should I find the VIN#? will I need to ask my dealer or I can find it online?

Thanks

You can get the VIN and the production number from the dealer. We have people on this forum who have waited almost 3 months to get their car. I have not waited that long because I chose a car that was already on its way to the dealer, in other words, it was optioned by the dealer instead of me picking all of the options and then ordering it. Just have patience and you will get it soon enough.

Odd. I called the hotline and after saying my production number, it kicked to a live operator who said their last update had me at the port...but that they don't keep track after this. So...does that mean I'm "en route"? According to this thread I'm supposed to hear the automated service say that magical word.

111 status

i played it smart (i thought) and went to 2 dealers and had them compete, ending up w/a 135i at $1,000 under MSRP. unfortunately, while both guaranteed "112 status" i apparently picked the wrong dealership, because when he came back w/ my production #, he said it's in 111 status, but should switch to 112 by monday. i don't know about all of you, but for me, every day i wait for my car is a day of agony!!
should i trust the dealer or not? has this happened to anybody else

As long as you have a production number, that's the most important thing, status 111 or 112, it still means BMW-NA has an order in hand from you........

My apologies if this has already been posted somewhere.

Thought some of you that are tracking your vehicles might be interested in this webcam of the auto-terminal at Bremerhaven:

Maybe someone on here with more experience with bmw's shipping time lines can help me out here. My car is waiting for the boat right now. When I ordered the car @ sept 9th, they said the earliest day I could do PCD was Nov 21st. Seems kinda long now that the car is already waiting for the boat. Does anyone think I can get them to move it up? It seems REALLY long that I would have to wait almost 6-7 weeks when the car is already sitting at the dock waiting for the boat (confirmed on 800 #). I can't wait any longer, any info that would help me be more informed when speaking with my CA tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

How long was everybody's cars "awaiting transport" until it was in transit?? Just trying to get a general idea because the wait is killing me! Thanks.

Absolutely - My car is on the Undine, which is about halfway to its first American stop in Halifax.

Even with ED or PDC it still works, since your car still has to come across the pond.

Have Fun,

On the Ship Tracking website where do we enter the VIN? Booking Number, Bill of Lading Number, Cargo ID, or Customer Reference Number?

Tracking Question

My car is awaiting transport at a dock somewhere in Germany. When I check the online status the vehicle options listed are not what I ordered. The color is correct but the car is listed with automatic transmission and premium package. However, I didn't order it that way. My CA said that I shouldn't be concerned. Any thoughts?

This is a very common issue w/ the online system. I believe what tends to happen is that very few production numbers are yours from "birth." Either the same number was used by a past order (could show ANYTHING, even wrong model entirely) or for an order your dealership placed a short time before they modified their order to match yours (in which case it'll show what the dealership decided they wanted before you put your order in). It will fix itself eventually.
