Possible to order BMW Performance Suspension with car?

I was under the impression that one could order the BMW performance suspension as an option when ordering the car, but there is no BMW performance suspension option on the BMW website. Does it have to be installed aftermarket, or can I order this to come with my car? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I was just about to look for an answer to this, I was just on the website as well checking out the price for it. I saw someone post here on the forums that they purchased their car with it and I want to do the same thing.

Just talked to a dealer. It is a BMW Performance Accessory, which means its a dealer installed option. It cannot be ordered pre-installed to save labor charges. The same goes for the 3-series. I mention that because in Build-Your-Own, it shows up as a 3-series accessory option - but in reality, it will come in a box and labor charges will apply.

Installed with tax, they are quoting me $2306.92 for it.

that's not a bad installed price at all, around here it would be far more

As noted, it is a dealer-install only.

If you have it installed prior to delivery, it is very clear that the full BMW warranty will apply for the Perf. suspension. It may also apply if you get it installed after delivery, but that point is still a little murky right now.

Have Fun,
Rick

I thought so long as a service center installed the part it was covered by the factory warrenty.

I think so too, but some dealers want to stick to the 2-year warranty posted on the Web site. I got my dealer to go so far as to say if the Perf. parts replace an existing part on the car it gets the full factory warranty. That would rule out the CF rear spoiler (unless you consider the small lip that comes on the car), or a strut brace (if they ever get around to offering one for the 135i.)

I have the suspension, but it hasn't been installed yet - I hope my interpretation is correct.

Have Fun,
Rick

Oh well that's great to know, I love how BMW hasn't fixed that then someone comes along (like myself) and buys it and is screwed because the website isn't correct. It's not the first mistake I find on the website.

Nah, I won't start buying parts for my car until about the end of this month when I turn my current car in for end-lease. I was going to buy it though and I will definitely make sure there's an error in that listing if not I guess they maybe made it for the 135i now as well you never know.

After you said that, I thought about it. I called back - of course, the price didn't include the required springs. So after you add that, its probably not so great, I never got a final price.
