iCarbon diffuser is coming in soon and I hope to order Lux Angel Eyes. The big decision with be wheels. Still not sure if I want to settle for 18's. I wish I could see a 135i with 19's in person! If I go with 18's, I would likely get the Eurotek LM reps. If I get 19's, I'll likely get the SR-71's. Just wish the 19's were closer to 22 lbs.

So my car was brought to my dealership for the second time in the first 2 months of having it after they did a horrible buff job on my hood. This time I made sure to get a BMW loaner instead of the Ford Focus they gave me last time! The 2013 328i that I had for 5 days was extremely smooth and compliant. My girlfriend loved driving it because "it's so quiet" and the color was "pretty." However, it is no 135i to say the least. The feature in which the engine shuts off when you stop gets annoying, so I turned it off most of the time. Sadly, I felt like I was in my mother's old Camry most of the time.
Loaner New Wheels: Eurotek LM's Specs: 18x8.5 front with 225/40/18, 18x9.5 rear with 255/35/18 Tires: Hankook Ventus Evo 12 Although the wheels are wider than stockers, I saved approx 6 lbs/corner with the upgrade. I haven't driven the car more than a few miles so far, but the tires are much stickier when I step on it and the ride isnt as jarring as it was with the RFT's. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the performance and look. The reason I went with 18's instead of 19's was because of price and performance, which are the same reasons I bought my 135i in the first place. After a drop with either springs or coilovers, I believe the 18's will look amazing. Without further adieu, here are the pics! Sitting in my garaged unloved The mallet was for loosening the stock wheels that were stuck on the hub due to rust... that was fun... Last edited by greensto; 02-06-2013 at 11:47 PM.. |

So I have taken the e85 plunge since the pump is only 2 miles away from my house. Running the adaptive JB4 map 5 with a 30/70 mix has proven to make some good results. The most noticeable difference is faster spooling. I don't have any dyno information to demonstrate actual differences, but my car now feels as though it's always in the "Manual Sport" mode on the auto tranny. I used to have to knock the shifter into MS mode when I wanted to get the rpm's up and ready for a pull, but I no longer need to. It feels like it's always ready to go now. Highway pulls seem stronger too (recently had fun killing an M6). Gas mileage is only down a tiny bit, but I have also been having more fun doing spirited driving lately. The price for e85 compared to 93 octane is less too. I'm hoping in the future, there will be options for a larger hpfp and injectors so I can just run straight e85 at all times
Some more pics after a proper wash... Love how these tires actually stick to the ground |

Looking for coilovers that are reliable, do not have a tendency to squeak, and can give me a 2" drop. I want something similar to KW V1's, but I've read about lots of unwanted noises with KW's. Maybe ST coils or H&R... I have thought about getting springs and a damper kit for around $850, but there really isn't a huge price difference to justify not spending $1000 on good coilovers. I would rather do suspension right the first time and have the ability to adjust the hieght in the future if I desire.

Thanks for the compliments! I was looking at 1M bumpers and I got the approval of my girlfriend! Just gotta save some money now! I recently raced a Gallardo with her in the car and she was in shock when it was a dead even race. One of the best memories of my car so far! Can't wait to dyno/take it to the track.
What kind of numbers (dyno and 1/4 mile) do you think I should expect with JB4 map 5, catless DP's, DCI, and 30/70 e85 mix? |
