I will put up a summary of what gets discussed, if you have time depending on how long the rugby runs feel free to stop by.

Planning meeting at BBC: 7/12/15.
We discussed a number of things...
For the larger Meet with all of the 1ers in the area:
-We were unsure if we should call it 1fest, we were thinking 1 meet or any other ideas people have for names.
-We discussed locations:
These locations would potentially need sponsors: Larz Anderson, Turner, ECS Tuning, Brent Tuning, any BMW dealer(Norwood or Wagner were discussed), Plymouth or Stow Airfields.
These locations would be free or no sponsor needed: Gillette Stadium, any state park, Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Seaport in Boston, and Babson College.
- We talked about making it a fundraising event ( can donation or something for the soldiers over seas or anything along those lines)
-We did not pick a date yet, but were aiming towards the fall and would like to get an idea of everyone's schedule that is interested in attending to pick a day.
-We also discussed a smaller monthly meet as previously suggested. We discussed doing a joint meet either a 123 meet with 1ers,2ers and 3ers or potentially a 1234 meet with 1-4 ers, we were thinking of the Flatbreads in Burlington as a meet location or any other location listed in the above free or no sponsor section or any other places that would be good, we also discussed doing a meet and drive at either F1 in Braintree or K1 in Kingston. We did not decide on a date for the monthly or smaller meet and would like input on a day/time that would work for everyone.
Thank You to the one other person that showed up to help make this a more active group! If anyone has any other ideas feel free to post them up!

Any way to do a larger meet in early September while the weather is still good?

All the locations sound good, I like the idea of Turners as they also have aftermarket support for the 1 series and are good guys. I can approach them if people want.

I like monthly meets, Flatbreads sounds cool. Might I suggest a monthly cruise also that would be a different day. that way there are two events a month and people can attend both or just one.

I say for now don't worry about giving to a charity. Let's get this local community up and meeting and then see where it goes.

I am happy to plan a larger meet but need some dates people are available in September, I heard that Turner is not open typically on the weekends
(not 100% sure about this),The open house is this weekend I figured we could talk with them then about a meet either at their facility or another location, I am also not sure what is going to happen with Turner in the future as ECS Tuning bought them. I am also working with someone from Boston Chapter CCA with planning a fall Oktoberfest type meet.

I am also happy to coordinate a monthly cruise, not sure from where to where but maybe from one location to a lunch spot where we can get some food.

What weekends in August works for everyone to go to flatbreads? do you want to make it a 1er meet to start or open it up to be a 123 meet?

I think Turner is going on just like before. The merger now means that Will Turner has more R&D money available and they also have access together distribution for parts.

I would up for the 1er fest or whatever it ends up being called the first three weekends in September ( i am out of town the last week)

For cruises we could do a craft beer pub tour. There are several in VT and NH that would make good drives.

August I am open more during the week. Weekends will be with family to do run out trips.

+1 for 1er or 1+2er only. I don't think the 2s have any model-specific events in the calendar year.
And I'm in for anytime before the end of fall.

FYI some random dates to keep in mind for deconfliction purposes:
August 9th - BMW CCA day at Larz Anderson
August 23 - BMW CCA Boston chapter Show and Shine
Sept 18-20 - BMW CCA High performance driving school at Palmer
Sept 21-27 - O-fest in NJ

I'm sure overlapping with any of these events wouldn't be a huge deal... Just something to consider

Thanks for providing those dates I'd make sure they don't interfere with those so people have the options.
For the meet at flatbreads would people prefer like a Friday night or Saturday/Sunday lunch type of event ? And would you like to open the flatbreads event up to the 2ers or keep it a 1er meet for now ?
Also what are peoples thoughts on a Facebook group to post all of the events ?

Last year I helped setup a BMW Dyno Day/Meet at Bren Tuning on a Saturday. Great turnout. A lot of cars and people at the event and 10 cars on the Dyno. My 135 being the only 1er on the Dyno, all others were E46 M3s. Bren provided pizza and water for everyone, so maybe something like that could be made possible again?
Maybe we can try and set something up like that again. Maybe not all 1ers but spread it around to all other forums to make it big. We probably wouldn't fulfill the requirement to reserve the dyno on a Saturday with just 1ers, so all other bmws would work too. I'm really good friends with Bren so this is something that can be doable. He even asked me about trying to set something up again the last time I went there to visit

Dyno day is great if you have a tune. Not sure everyone 1er here has one.
How did it work. If we made it a bbq too that would be cool.

Yeah I Understand everyone won't have a tune but a majority of the m3 guys there were stock as well. It was just an excuse to meet up with people and get some numbers on those that wanted to know what they were pushing. It was a great turnout and I finally got a chance to put faces to user names. It was a good time.
And I'm sure a BBQ wouldn't be a bad idea either but that's something I would have to run through Bren if this is the case. Just to make sure it's good to go
