SCOTT,

Is Estoril Blue a possibility?

Should we expect seats identical to the M3's?

On exhaust, it seemed that there were two different exhaust/engine sounds in the two cars at the press event.

I thought one of them sounded much better.

Just curious if it was my imagination.

One of the two cars sounded very close to a "normal" N55 motor, and I know it's hard to get an S54 like exhaust note in a turbocharged motor, but something racy is always nice!

Also, like I said in the other thread, PLEASE try to talk them into cloth seats for the US market, even if it's a $$ option. I LOVE the cloth seats I sat in at BMW Welt in the 135i they had there. Probably a slightly uncommon opinion, but worth asking.

Thanks for taking all the time to hang out here, and get feedback/answer questions, it's a great thing to see with a car a lot of us have been excited about for a long time.

Not at all, if presented correctly. They could offer heavier, full leather seats (like those in the M3) and lighter, cloth/alcantara seats with full manual controls. I, for one, HATE power seats since they add weight/complexity and take a very long time to operate - I prefer to move the seat all the way back each time I exit the car and then move it forward into my driving position rather than leave it fixed.

Same.

I ordered my 135i with manual seats.

They could call them "Extra-Light Weight Sport Seats" or something along those lines, heh. Make up some fancy name for the cloth to make it sound sportier.

this may seem childish, but, what kind of engine is going to be in the 1 series M? haha guys its not a M1

i think a turboed I6 is what they're doing, but it would be sick as hell if there was a monster under that hood.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your intension to ressurect the feedback thread!

I saw your Avatar(the picture from below) on the **************.com and the whole front bumper looks very much like the coming 1///M, especially this oval form, which we've seen on the most of the 1///M mules. Is it really going to look like this or that's just one of the many paper concepts, that probably won't see light. Or perhaps one for the next gen 1-Series ///M Coupe? The front lights remind me a lot of a render I've seen in the newest Auto, Motor & Sport magazine.

Hi Scott! Some questions for you:

Most new BMW models are getting LED corona rings, blinkers and brake-lights.
Will the M1 get LED headlights and taillights?

The M1 prototype seems to have M3 seats.
Will the M1 get optional light weight bucket seats, BMW Performance style?

You said the M1 will have only 18" rims. But the portotpes have 19" rims.
What rim sizes will the M1 then have? Only 18" or also 19"?

Will the M1 get a boost gauge as in the Ford Focus RS 500 and Subaru Impreza WRX STI?

BMW M canceled the Personalization Program for the M1.
Will there still be some carbon firber parts similar the the ones of the Performance Program?
Will there be such a Personalization Program for the M5 F10, maybe M6 F12 and M3 F32?

BMW is working on a Tri-Turbo I6 Diesel engine for 5 Series (F10/F11/F07), 6 Series (F12/F13/F14), 7 Series (F01/F02), X5 and X6.
Might we see a Tri-Turbo I6 Gazoline engine configuration, for example in the next M3 F32?

Why did not BMW build a 135i Hatch (for Europe)?

Does the M3 GTS have KW or Sachs coilovers?

Thanks in advance.

Levi.

Hi Scott,

About the Metallic Orange you mentioned on my Orange 1M thread, would you mind to let us know if the color tone is same as the Inka Orange but with metallic base?

Is it possible to have Laguna Seca Blue?

How big is the chance to have Inka Orange?

Just want to make sure Inka Orange = M3 GTS Orange?

Thank you!

Okay that's an easy one (): How many turbos will the 1M's engine have?

Best regards,
south

Hello Scott,

I have few more question about the 1M

Is there going to be a boost indicator on the 1M?
Will it have a shifting light like the M3?
The CF roof will come standart or as an option?
Finally, will it have an extra performance package that will bring the output over the 360ps? or any overboost function like the 335/z435is?
Thanks

Care to share what the approximate weight savings will be over the 135?

In my best Doctor Evil voice, I was going to ask: "Scott, how many blades are there on the radiator fan? How many rows on the oil cooler? Exact height and width of the 1M badge? What's the exact length of the throw from 2nd to third, in mm, to one decimal please?".

But it's safe to say, in the grand scheme of things, where we know only ballpark hp, weight, 6 cylinders and FI, that on these types of questions, again in Doctor Evil's voice, "Scotty don't (have a clue on the answer.....)".

Pinky is now removed from edge of mouth.

Scott - Also curious if EDC will be offered on the 1M.

If it would save weight, then I would prefer to avoid adjustable dampers.

Scott, what is the target weight of the 1 ///M? Will a CF roof be offered (no cost sunroof-delete option). I can see how some weight is being added (bigger wheels/tires/brakes/body panels/exhaust, etc.), so what is being done to mitigate and in fact overcompensate for the added heft?

Also, will there be some active aerodymanics as part of the ///M treatments (as I hear will be incorporated in the upcoming M5). (e.g. active airvents, spoilers/wings, etc.) Thx!

Before we go any further.
I have no knowledge regarding European Delivery , Military Sales or anything regarding full details regarding the North American market strategy.

I reside in Munich and work for BMW AG , not BMW North America.

Well then will the US get the same version as the Euro version or will it be detuned or different?

Scott - Would you personally buy a lightly equipped 1M or base M3 next summer if car shopping?
