4 month old 135i with 1qt of oil left?
4 month old 135i with 1qt of oil left.
Somehow I'm thinking this isn't normal. Relevant facts: - I do autocross with this car. Not all the time, but I've done about 4 events. - I did my first full track day with the car last weekend. It performed wonderfully. - I have not noticed any leaking under the car. - The warning only cam on after I parked the car on a somewhat significant incline over night. I can't imagine that would be enough to trip the sensor though. Also, it's been parked outside of my office on a level surface for about an hour and still shows a low oil warning. EDIT: After another hour or so, the oil now reads "Max". Yeesh. I guess parking my 135i on an incline over night is enough to trip the oil level sensor warning?

I assume you meant to say one quart of oil down - not one quart left which would be 6 quarts down!
At any rate, you have discovered that a significant incline can skew the oil level reading - hope you are breathing easier now! Tom |

OP - that's normal if you do autocross. just add 1 quart of oil and you are good to go.
check your MFD and it should look like this "+1" get castrol syntec 5W - 30 cost around $6 or you can drive around to bmw garage and they will take care of it. no need to make an appointment. |
