like stoptech or EBC?
not looking to buy a 3900 brembo kit so please dont link them up

No rotors are really going to "perform" better in a stock size. Pads are where you should be focusing.

What are you looking for in a pad? Initial bite? Fade resistance? Low noise? Low dust?

Rank at least those things.

Let the forum know what you're looking for when you mention "performance". That could mean a lot of different things to different people on here.

There's nothing quite like OE rotors. Very strict testing and last quite long. If you're looking for tracking, you could try pretty much anything you'd like. A lot of people just choose to buy cheap centric rotors from RockAuto since rotors are a disposable item to most track dedicated cars.

And when you say better... Again, it depends on what you're looking for!

I don't know that this is what you mean but it seems to me that there is a common misconception about being able to shorten stopping distance with nicer brakes. For the most part different nice expensive brakes can not make the car stop any faster. Maybe a little bit of benefit from lowing the weight. The real reason people modify their brakes is to hold up to and dissipate heat. Your stopping distance is limited by your traction not your brakes. Your breaks are more than strong enough to lock up your wheels. What more do you think they can do beyond that? Your brakes have stopped your wheels from rolling at that point. If you want shorter stopping distance look for better tires, lower weight, or better suspension. If you want to keep your breaks cool enough that they won't get to the point that the that your breaks can't stop the wheels then go for pads, fluid, and better airflow. $8K of Brembo brakes won't shorten you stopping distance. They will stand up to heat better but there will not be a performance gain. Someone correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is that the to shorten stopping distance you need to lower momentum with less weight or increase the tires traction.

My wheel spacers are a rusted color from Sonax wheel cleaner. Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade my pads due to excessive braking noise, initial bite, and low dust.My car has 62k on it and I'm sure the rotors are about to go to. I'd like to get cross drilled rotors for the fronts. Any suggestions?

I'm installing EBC dimpled and slotted rotors with EBC Redstuff pads in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how it is initially and after the bedding.

I like mine in all areas but noise. The are loud when they get warmed up. Even after the often-cited break-in period.

Brakes don't stop the car, the tires do.

If you want to shorten stopping distances, the first thing to upgrade is the tires.

Hi PrematureApex, do you have the same setup? I was worried about the noise. Is it quite noticeable? Thanks
