Silver Matte Trim?

I saw Silver Matte Trim last night on the BMW USA configurator. Unfortunately, it won't le me actually add it to the configuration. Any have any additional information? Could my prayers have been answered and there is a decent looking trim for the 1er finally available in the US? Or is this just a mistake on the BMW USA site?

Thats just depressing! I ordered the lesser of evils when I got the glacier, now that the matte is available... I'm pissed. But good for you guys!

Bummer. I would have liked that on my '08, but my poplar grey doesn't look too bad. I hated the fish scale look of the glacier trim, otherwise I like aluminum.

The brushed will scratch easier that the "honey comb" pattern! But if you like it, see if they will let you get it. They also finally get the navi to show up in the configurator when added, so I'm happy.

configurator <----- sell check does not like this word!!!

I had the matt silver trim on my 118d loan car. It's pretty cheap and nasty. Very much plastic. Brushed aluminium is the best trim in my opinion. Agreed about the "glacier" honeycomb/fishscale not looking good.

I tried to get a price quote to order all brushed aluminum trim pieces but Dan at United says he isn't able to order it yet as it's not showing up. Anybody in Europe or elsewhere know the part numbers for all 6 interior trim pieces in brushed aluminum?

Here's a link that may provide another alternative.

123D-M,

Is it possible your brushed aluminum trim is called "polished aluminum" in the parts ordering guide? I don't see a brushed aluminum and I'm looking at the European version.

Here is what I come up with for polished aluminum trim pieces. Is there any way you could verify with your dealer part's guy that these are the part numbers? I really want to get a different aluminum trim than my glacier. Much appreciated!!!

ASHTRAY, ALUMINUM ACCENT POLISHED 51169137621
COVER, ASHTRAY/TRAY ALU ACCENT POLISHED 51169122668
COV,GEARSH.MECHANISM, ALU ACCENT POLISH 51169122663
TRIM FOR I-PANEL IN ACCENT POLISHED ALU 51459122671
TRIM, INT DR HANDLE, POL. ALU ACCENT, L 51416978141
TRIM, INT DR HANDLE, POL. ALU ACCENT, R 51416978142

May want to contact Dan @ United and see if he can get them for you since you have the part #'s.

Brushed Aluminum would be ideal. I really don't know why they don't offer it as an option. I still haven't seen the Silver Matte trim in person but I am assuming it will look better than Glacier Silver.

The 323 the dealership gave me as a loaner the other day had the matte silver trim. I didn't like it at all; it made the dash look like a giant camera from the '60s. It might work better in a 1-series, though.

I prefer the glacier trim to the matte silver, but I think the grey poplar is the best choice for virtually all colour combinations in the 1-series.
