128i Sunroof headroom?

I'm a bit on the tall side and I'm wondering... how much extra headroom does the 128i have if you do not have the sunroof?

I think a couple of inches. And if you don't have the power seats, you'll gain a bit more room there too. I'm a bit concerned about this too as I'm 6'5"; particularly with being in the car with a full face helmet. I haven't done any autocrossing or track time with my car but am still planning on it. As it is right now, I have just enough headroom but haven't done any driving in my car with a helmet. Also with my height the interior rear view mirror blocks my field of vision. I've learned to work around it but when I first got my car, I did have to get used to it.

I am a 6'2", all torso, and fit great in the 128i with power seats and sunroof. I know that wasn't your question.

I like sitting higher up so its easier to see and place the front of the car. An extra 2 inches would be quite nice. It seems that 95% of 1 series came with sunroof. Gonna be hard finding one without.

Mine is a slicktop, there's a pic of the headliner in my build thread here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1190719

I recall the sunroof cassette is about 2 inches tall in an e36, the e82 should be quite similar. You could likely measure the distance by putting a yard stick across the car against the top of the window opening then measure up from the center of the yard stick and compare.

Another aspect to keep in mind is that manual seats sit significantly lower than memory seats.
