You're welcome, the 'hinge' does look like it would be pretty reliable.

Not only is the armrest tiny, the passthrough is tiny too! I couldn't fit my snowboard through that hole if my life depended on it. Skiis, yes.. but I don't ski to begin with I won't be taking the 1er up into the snowy mountains anyhow

YEP...the side bolster is right there when you get in. I'm not very tall (like 5'-9") so the seat is closer to the steering wheel than a larger person. I find that I need to kinda turn as I get in so as not to put a hard rub on the bolster each time I enter / exit.
But once in, the seats are terrific.

Its poor really.

And the centre plastic tray is a waste of time. What are you supposed to put in it???!! It could have had a lid at least.

Like our ask tray? You have a open bin in it's place? That might be nice for sunglasses, but the compartment in the armrest seems to fit my shades nicely.

Btw, the padded bin in the door is great for storing change.

Well I was bummed that the Armrest wasn't standard... but now that I see how pathetic it is... I'll just order the heated seats and get the solid back (i.e. no cold weather package).

I think the sold back looks a bit 'cleaner' too...

The only thing that I can think of that you would put in that back storage bin would be a box of kleenex.

I skipped the cold weather package too, mainly because I did not want the headlight washer bumps on the front. Looking at these pictures, I am doubly glad. I did get the heated seats. Even here on the Gulf Coast, its nice sometimes to use a seat warmer, and keep the windows and sunroof open in colder weather (read 40-60 F here).

I used to never have/order or use heated car seats, but they came on my Lexus convertible, and I learned to love them.

That arm rest is really terrible looking.

The "headlight washer bumps on the front" are standard on the 135 correct? Just getting my stuff together before I order.

Thanks!

1. If you have comfort access and you start the car without putting the FOB in, what happens when you get up and leave the car? Does the engine stop?
Even without comfort access you can start the car without the key plugged into the dash. But yes its a process to make this work and actually its a glitch.
First: start your car with key in socket and all doors closed.
Second: turn car off pull key out of socket (hand to a friend outside via the window) do not open any door.
Third: press the start button.
Fourth: drive away

3. Being new to BMW, why did they decide to put the door lock in the center console?
BMW has always had the door lock in the center. they use to have the window controls there too. It seems they changed the window controls to the doors this model and most new models in 07 and up. I don’t' really like this, to me it’s a safety issue being that you usually have the center hand free especially if you have a stick. You have to now switch hands to find the controls on the door.
