Slotted/drilled Rotors - BMR

Hi guys,
i contacted stuart today are BMR and he said the cross drilled & slotted rotors listed on the site for 135i are not longer available and can only offer me a 2 piece setup for $900.

Any other recommendations for sourcing rotors in sydney ?
DBA wont sell to the public.

try these guys to give you some options. Myself or friends have all ordered from the below companies. Most will have to order in BMW rotors but will have pads etc.

www.vsport.com.au
www.brakesdirect.com.au
www.frysspares.com

Supercheap or repco can order in from DBA

If you're planning on tracking your car, don't get cross-drilled rotors as they're susceptible to cracking - just get slotted. If you just want to look pretty on the street then go right ahead.
As long as ECS have the rotors in stock, it only takes one week for them to arrive here.

But the price is the same as local..... That isn't what I'm after. It is to costly of a set up.

Do DBA have T2 slotted rotors available yet? I enquired 2yrs ago and they wanted 50 sets paid for in advance before designing and manufacturing them. IIRC it was a 2-3 month lead time. Price point would be $280-320 for the pair judging by similar T2 rotors I've bought for other Brembo equipped cars.

If we gather enough interest it may be worth pursuing.

Hi Prolifik,

I know that you said that your preference is to source your rotors locally but if all else fails I sourced the BMW Performance Rotors from the manufacturer, Dura International, at a fraction of the price. Bought on ebay from the US and arrived in a week via courier.
If you need them the part numbers are:
Dura International BR900988 Rear Vented Brake Rotor Approx US$42.22 each (slotted with false drill holes i.e. dimples for looks I guess)
Dura International BR900986 Front Vented Brake Rotor Approx US$92.05 each (slotted and drilled).

Apologies if I've wasted your time.

This is the cheapest I found on eBay for the fronts.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Disc-Brak...VrTFt#shpCntId

US$110.93 each and US$57.70 for combined shipping of 2 rotors.

So are the normal blanks single piece and these are two piece? Are the hats aluminium so they weight a lot less?

Would be great if they made a 2 piece blank rotor, I'd prefer it over the slotted and dimpled.

I'm hijacking this thread but I've got 4 slightly used blanks for sale $60 each and 2 X brand new still in the box slotted and cross drilled OEM fronts for $700.
See my post from earlier today pics of the parts can be found in the classified section.

For what it's worth I tracked with the cross drilled slotted OEM Rotors my Fereodo DS2500 pads went before the Rotors did.

Both BMW rotors and BMW Performance rotors are of a two piece design. Only original BMW parts will have the square bar code box laser etched onto the rotor hat. I paid 160 euros each for my BMW Performance rotors from my local BMW Zentrum. O think in the USA they are even cheaper at places like Tischer or United.

In that one ebay link it says the rotors are remanufactured. WTF does that mean> ? Old rotor hats and new steel ring/rotor ?

My BMW Performance rotors...

Check a thread by me on brakes. I got them from ebay and have been terrific. Work exactly the same, good performance, no issues. Great price.

+1. I bought front and rear for a bit under $600 shipped and they've been great.

Yup I think I took your advice on them before buying them lol. I should've done the paint though, cause they are starting to look rusty.
