135i & 335i wheel swap. What do you think?

So, I'll skip the long story... but essentially my buddy has a 335i and wants to borrow my wheels & tires for a short trip. (again, long story)

I have the M-sports package rims and Hancook V12's on them with the following sizes:

225/40ZR18
255/35ZR18

I think those are the exact tire sizes on his 335i. Can I safely swap wheels with him for a weekend?

Well, wrong offset, but you can try.

Offset will be the challenge, 34 in the front and 37 in the back for the stock 18's on a 335. The "fitment" on a 135 is in the low 40's but folks are squeezing lower on with fender rolling/pulling and negative camber. My bet would be on his stockers "fitting" your car, but I am not sure about the driveability for it.

More concerned about my wheels/tires fitting his. I'll put his wheels/tires on my car for the day, but I'm not really going to drive it.

If anything, they will be sunk into the wheel wells on the e92. They can take a much lower offset than the 1.

That's assuming it is e92 versus e90 but either way they will fit fine I'm pretty sure

to fit 3 series wheels you need 4 3 series front wheels the rear wheels from a 3 series is impossible to fit.

Wonder if this ever got resolves, or if anyone knows if I can put some 335i stocks on my rolled 135i? Getting my rims powder coated and my stock wheels are in storage.

I realize this is a very old thread, but I have this exact question and don't want to start another thread. I actually already bought the rims, thinking that I would just use spacers, but now I feel like that's not such a great idea. I'm also not sure if my front tires (235/40r18) will fit the 7.5 inch rim width. The rear rims are the same size as my 335i rims, it's just the fronts that might have tire fitment issues.

I'd be swapping Style 162 (My 335i) for Style 261 (from 135i)

Not sure if this is worth it and might just sell them. Any thoughts?

Spacers should be fine, 15mm should space the 261's out to about the same spot as your stock wheels. And 235 tires will be fine on 7.5" wide wheels. I run 255's on the stock front wheels due to street class autocross rules. I've heard of the s2000 guys running 255's on 7" wheels!

Oh man, the guy at America's tires told me they can't warranty anything about the swap and told me it's not a good idea. Where do you guys go to swap tires?

I appreciate the replies, thank you

As long as you're putting the 1er wheels on your 3er and not the other way around you'll be fine with I think a 12mm spacer front and 15mm spacer rear. Don't quote me on those measurements, I'd recommend using willtheyfit.com and doing your own measurements for fender clearance with the spacer.

Here in Texas we just find the yellow buildings that are more like mom and pop type places. Discount Tire wouldn't mount the 255s on my front wheels, but Martinez Tire down the road did it no problem

Love the 313s on my 128

I purchased one of the last Style 313 18" for the 1 series- tire and wheel set from BMW. Mine has the later M badge rather than the BMW Performance in the wheel rim. Expensive but worth the look.

Bought these on a whim while keeping my VMR 810s Michelin Pilot AS tires. The 313s are stock run flats. This car isn't driven in winter, so I cannot say how the ride is (too hard or firm)
