I think it is more marketing. I really want to know more from the drivers. I quess they got nice jackets a drive and a big contract which they have to sign to say nothing negative about the car. I quess there will be some nice numbers be written all over in the contract.

I need to testdrive it myself a few months later proberly. This 12 person ///Marketing gathering doesn t help much in the decision.

Meh, I wish they have new head rest. Those ones in existing 1er is foam on two steel rods stick into the seat. Not very comfortable at all like rest of the body hugging seatback and seat cushion

Just think, all this for the sum total of 2500 owners, a truly affordable, unobtainable M. Pure M for entry level M owners, whoooo, will never see one in their garage.

I think this whole E82 1 Series M Coupe, is a setup to get people interested in the next version of the M coupe, coming down the pike. Marketing at its finest.

Very exciting.

I really hope it does have larger turbos, but that seams highly unlikely with the lack of CF roof.

It's one thing to lighten and stiffen the already existing chassis through the use of different materials/parts, it's another to redesign it to use different doors. BMW probably decided it didn't make financial sense to redesign the entire chassis to use doors with frames just for the 1 series M coupe.

I would like to know what car this 12 tester drive at home. Just to get a better feeling about the statements from them. And yes a bit more info would be great. E.g. Breakes, Exaust sound, etc.

Yeah quit for sure.

I think the 12 persons have signed some kind of contract to not reveal/saw anything new. Afteral i am glad i am not of the 12 persons. I will explain why.

All 12 testers are used by bmw only for marketing. We only have seen a movie with smiles and positive oneliners. I am 100 procent certain there are also negatives. But they are all cut out. They can not say anything about the car which reveals anything new or say something negative about the car. If i was one of the attenders and i saw the movie bmw made and knowing i signed a shut up contract i would feel abused afterwards. My thoughts were 12 people go there and they can write nice reviews on here but i guess bmw forsaw that and made a nice marketing plan instead for themselfs.

A nice qoute which always works. Everything people do is in 99% of all cases been done for themselfs.

We haven't heard back from the author of post #11, nor have we heard from any of the participants, apart from the BMW-produced footage. No doubt they've signed a serious agreement that carries incentives and/or penalties.

I would surmise that the author of post #11 has been reminded of the terms of his agreement. Btw, ironic name/handle, right?

It seems that if participants had a great time, chances are that someone would have sent their impressions by now, unless they were barred from doing so.

lol exactly my thoughts,I wonder what would happen if one of the testers came out in that interviews saying "i really expected more, after driving that car, i really dont know what the hype is all about, i dont think this qualifies for the M letter. for me this is just an overpriced 135i. bmw has lower its standards. i came with high expectations but now i think ill pull the trigger on a vette. nevertheless thanks for the jackets and the tour "that would be something.

Some of the participants, particularly the ones in the US, are still flying home. Give em a chance. Their doesn't revolve around this board.

Participants were told one thing only, and that is not to talk about their experience before the video on M-Power.com went live yesterday.

Bigmouth Studio was the first one who wrote a review here. Expect at least two more to come.

Best regards,
south

Maybe I'm the minority here, but I prefer the current tails. The car is stalky/bulky as it is (bulldog butt) that having straight line LEDs stretches out the rear a bit which I think has a positive visual effect. Having these L-Shaped lights only accentuates its height, which for a slick coupe is not the accent you want.
