StageFP lack of support
Making this post mostly to warn others but also get some feedback from the community. I continually struggle to get any response from stagefp on my tune orders (both when originally purchased in 2022 and recently when I ordered a tune upgrade). Emails gain no response and when I call I am re-assured that the tune will be sent by end of day (it has now been 3 weeks).
I know StageFP has lots of experience with these motors but I honestly can't excuse the lack of support and ability to fulfill orders. I wish I just swapped to 22rpd instead of buying this tune upgrade, and probably will anyways since I can't get my tune. Last edited by foflo; 08-19-2025 at 08:15 AM.. |

I got the same lack of support with a tune update I had ordered earlier this year. Took over 3 weeks to get a response but they finally did and the car runs great. When I got the tune originally back in 2020 they were very responsive.
I'm sure N52 tunes aren't some giant money maker for them but they still offer the service and should communicate delays to the customers. I'll be moving to 22RPD on my next tune as well.

That's pretty poor response, and I can't say it's because the N52 is not a profit generator, and more likely lack of actual staffing. Last I saw they were looking to hire someone. I also know they work as a fabricator, so it's not just a tuner like some other outfits.
Still, communication is key. I would call again and just be honest about your feedback. Money talks. |

not here to comment on stagefp but just wanted to chime in that i've had great communication with tune revisions, etc. with 22rpd. no complaints.

This whole thread pretty perfectly reflects my experience. I'm gonna copy and paste what I said in another thread as I think it fits here:
I know StageFP has been reputable in the past, but lately I have been seeing increased reports of poor communication. I actually bought a tune from them a few months back, and then due to lack of quality communication decided to get my money back. They were responsive in that regard, but I just didn't feel cared for or like my concerns were worth their time. 22RPD has been AWESOME! Quick turnaround times on tunes, helpful supportive and easy communication. A couple months after my tune, I converted to a single-mass flywheel and asked 22RPD about raising my idle to help with the gear chatter noise. I was technically outside of my window for a free re-tune, but they answered me immediately saying that it was no problem. They're also developing ITBs and other stuff for the N52, and I think that's awesome. There's not a lot of other guys still pushing what is possibly the ultimate NA straight six. |
