135i Exhaust options on 128i?

Hello family.

I have headers and a bottle muffler on my 128i, the car makes all the fun noises but im looking to tone it down JUST A NOTCH and refine the sound as the bottle muffler can sound a bit "hollow". I have n51 so I do have secondary cats still in place.

I am debating between the straight bolt on Magnaflow, as from what ive seen it sounds great with the headers. However, its pricey, so im looking into options for 135i that may fit a 128i with slight modification from an exhaust shop.

Has anyone got experience in bolting up a 135i set up to 128i and how did it go/what modification if any was required?

I’m about to put a 135 muffler from an n55 engined car on my 128. Here’s a page with great info on that. You can find a stock n55 135 muffler for cheap.

Also has info on how to make it into an M performance muffler if you weld up some of the inner holes on the y pipe.
