So what's the 2025 thinking on MILVs?

Been out of the loop for a while. Saw a whole bunch of controversy a while back with BDS motorsport saying they don't work, some forum posts claiming they bought fake MILVs, and of course no final resolution.

Neither BDS nor Bimmermilvs replied when I reached out to ask them what the final situation was.

All I want to know is whether there was a final answer with dyno proof on whether it's worth it or not.

Anyone know? Thanks

I don't have any dyno graphs and honestly didn't know that people were claiming MILVs doesn't do anything.

Anyway, I added MILVs (bought from Marty) to my car in 2023 along with a tune update and I immediately noticed more power on the test drive. The only proof I have is that when I went to VIR in 2022 my max GPS speed at the end of the back straight was ~127mph, when I went back in 2023 with MILVs + retune installed I was able to hit ~132mph.

I did find the E90post thread that was talking about all this and the BDS claims, seems interesting that the guy ended up removing his post claiming there were no gains.

Thank you, I appreciate the insight. It was all very strange, I watched the video and it kind of seemed plausible, although I'd have thought we'd see people having issues with the valves not completely closing.

From my understanding MILVs does nothing without a tune. I would imagine a tune alone would improve power and acceleration. So how much does MILVs really help along with the tune?

I have 3SIM, MILVs, AA catless headers, and a StageFP tune accounting those updates, with a 3.73 rear diff. Can't really say how much MILVs helped but I can say that everything together is just so damn good in this lil 1er.

I realize that doesn't really answer your question and just wanted to flex on my power mods
